Chapter 22 – Lesbiannicus: Serpents Tongue
Selene: [overhearing their conversation suddenly knots appeared in the pit of her stomach] Returning to the market she walks towards the table she was seated at before. Looking on the ground she picks up the crumbled posture then heads out of the market. As soon as the doors closed behind her she quickly opened it. Staring down at the picture almost immediately her mouth widened from shock.
Selene: It can’t be! [she says to herself as she held the posture closer to her face finally confirming her suspicions] Alani is not her name, she is a princess! Alice the daughter of Queen Lenore! She is heir to the——. [she suddenly cuts herself off as her hands trembled, heart beat rapidly against her chest, and her mouth felt drier than the soil she stood on.] Jaeil, knew which is why she bought her to the city! If Jennicus searches for her Jaeil bringing her to Kaicus has placed all in danger! If she will not see her returned then I will! [she says before mounting her horse hoping to catch up with the three soldiers]
Natticulus…..
Preparations for the impending war continued as everyone worked against the deadline towards completion. Although, preparing for war was at the pinnacle of everyone’s mind the forging bonds that were created were leased expected. Given, their acrimonious first encounter neither Bette nor Shane could have foreseen a possible friendship brewing. Through various discussions they could not seem to agree on anything especially on the best tactic to remove Jennicus from power. It wasn’t until she inadvertently overheard a conversation between Bette and Gaia, she discovered they had a lot more in common than expected. It began with a small conversation that gradually grew into more soon she began viewing her in a softer light. Never sharing with her what she overheard she continued to embrace their new found friendship and finally understood why the “Great Bette Porter” was rendered respect by so many. Everything she was, the friend, wife, mentor, soldier, and woman was never given but earned. In the short amount of time they had become friends she had learned a great deal from her. As she and Bette continued to grow close her relationship with Carmen had become non-existent. While looking over battle strategies and overseeing the crafting of weaponry she was joined by a sweaty Tara.
