    Chapter 23 – Moving Day

They were then off for their run.  Bette was amazed at how different her run felt with the new shoes.  She was still feeling the stress on her muscles and bones, but she felt better supported and less road impact as she made each stride. She felt her strides were more consistent and her pace and posture was more in alignment and gave her confidence. She was surprised when Tina indicated it was time to head back toward the house as her body felt like that it could do a lot more. Tina could see that Bette was really benefiting from her new shoes.

Once at the house, Tina went to get some bottles of water to hand to Bette for Angie when she got there.

Bette:  Oh, my god T?  I had no idea what a difference a pair of shoes could make. That was wonderful. I think I could have run for another hour or more.

Tina:  Unless you are planning to run races and marathons, there is no sense in running any more than what we did. Our purpose is to get some exercise on a regular basis.

Bette: Okay, what do I need to do to start with?

Tina:  I’ve started the laundry, why don’t you get the second load started.  Angie will be down with her laundry before she leaves for school.  I’ll start breakfast.

Bette:  Don’t you want to have a shower before we have breakfast?

Tina:  No, eat first.  What time are your guys coming to move furniture?

Bette:  They will be here at 9:30. They want to be finished by lunch. I think they have a job this afternoon.

Tina:  That won’t be a problem, will it?

Bette:  It shouldn’t be.  The biggest problem is going to get your books and file cabinet from the closet in my office to your closet in your office and that is only because the steps have to be negotiated.  And we need to decide what to do with the two old mattresses.

Tina:  Can we get the furniture company to carry them off?

Bette:  Surely, we can. We just made a rather nice purchase from them. They should be willing to carry off an extra mattress or two.

Tina:  The charity is coming to pick up all the boxes of clothes. We will get them to look at them and see if they want them. Maybe they will take them off.

    1. Wow, a lot to do around the house !
Tina’s finally got her boxes unpacked and put away. It’s nice that she’s able to have her own office space. They will both need the space once they start working for the Peabody Foundation.

Angie did excellently! Good for her, she has worked hard, harder I think since she moved away from Jordi. It would have been interesting to see just what races Jordi achieved, not as good as Angie’s, I’m thinking!

Now all packed for Vancouver and Angie for her stay with Shane….. looking forward to seeing what the next chapter brings…. Thank you

    2. Janice24,

You have been very faithful in making comments. I do appreciate you.

Yes, Bette and Tina need to go through a process to provide the space for Tina to be a true resident of the house. Bette remembers that Tina said she felt she needed space and that was one of the reasons she left. Bette is determined to provide Tina with her own personal space so that she can feel that she too is an equal member of the family. This office now consists of the furnishings picked out and arranged by Tina. It is a place which she can have times of privacy and or to work undisturbed by the rest of the household.

So, it’s on to Vancouver for the weekend.
