    Chapter 3 – Lets Make a Deal

Bette:  Yes, I am.  I’m also worried about Paris too. We will soon see how much there is to worry about.

Tina:  Tonight, I am going to order a large red bow to put on top of Angie’s car for her birthday. I’ll have it delivered to Kits so they can put it in the car until we get it ready for presentation. I think she is going to love this car even though it’s not her dream car.

Bette:  Well, I’m really enjoying this car.  Handles very nicely. Fits me pretty good.  Tina, I think we have done well today.

Tina:  Yep, this is a big chunk on our to do list checked off. Tomorrow morning you need to concentrate on getting your resume out.  I can work on getting Daniel’s resume out to schools. I made an appointment for next Wednesday for Daniel at Dr. Thompson. I’ll email you the information. Put it on your calendar so you don’t schedule something else in that time spot.

They arrived at the dealership and received the paperwork and keys for the charcoal grey metallic 2018 Ford Fusion. It too was still under warranty. Tina led the way to Kit’s house driving Angie’s new chariot.

Kit came out the door and saw the two cars arrive.  She had opened the garage for Tina to park the car. Kit’s home had a four-bay garage and had plenty of room to hide this vehicle from view.

Kit:  That is a nice ride. Really cute.  I hope that girl appreciates all you guys do for her.

Tina:  Kit, like all kids, she will have no idea what she has been provided until she has to provide for herself much less be grateful for it. She has no experience in doing without, so until that happens, she looks at things like getting a car as simply the right of passage.

Kit:  You’re right.  I was the same way.  I had no appreciation of having a home, a car and even food until I didn’t have it anymore. Suddenly, I grew up.

Bette:  How do you like my new ride?

Kit:  Oh Bette, that’s just like Angie’s only a different color.  Owooo… I like that dark red color. It suits you.

    1. Collins,
Isn’t that the way life is? Lots of things going on which requires multi-tasking? My Bette and Tina are on the same page… they have been working at it for more than 20 years. They know what irritates and what soothes the other. They know they have responsibilities for their children. And most of all, they love their choices they have made in life – each other as partners, their professions, and their role as parents. This is a summer of change for these two. New professions, new home and a some what different family structure. The transition from their New York life to a life in California is full and getting Angie ready for Yale is thrown into the mix. Time is limited and what needs to be accomplished is much. And these two women will get it done…

      Thank you for reading.
