    Summary:
    Who’s the unexpected visitor??

    “Put this back on your stomach.” Tina placed a heating pad back on her sister’s mid-section that she had been using to quell some of the pain and discomfort of her nausea. “Try to rest.”

    “Thanks.” Ashley managed as she pressed the pad against her body.

    “I have that message out to the on call doctor.” Tina reminded her sister as she helped Ashley place both legs out in front of her and try to get comfortable. “We should hear back from him soon.”

    “God, I hope so.” Ashley groaned as another small wave of nausea shot through her and she tried to hold down the urge to vomit. She held a cool, damp washcloth to her pale lips.

    Tina reached out to hold the cloth for Ashley, but before she could reply, the doorbell rang.

    “Maybe it’s the doctor.” Ashley tried to laugh, but coughed and hacked roughly instead.

    “You’ve been watching too many Brit box shows since we arrived.” Tina groaned at her sister as she hurried to answer the front door of the cottage house. God, she hoped Ashley was right.

    Little did they both know that Ashley’s wish would actually come true . . .

    * * * * * *

    “Good evening Tina.” Bette’s voice resonated as a deep timber as Tina swung open the front door of the house to reveal the person on the other side.

    “Oh . . . oh my.” Tina clutched her throat with her left hand at the sight of the tall brunette. She had no idea that the doctor was back in the UK, let alone on the Porter Estate. The brunette looked breathtaking in her dark slacks, starched white linen shirt and charcoal blazer. The ends of her hair slightly damp from the moisture in the air. All Tina wanted to do was jump into the brunette’s arms and never let go. “Gosh, Bette, you . . . you surprised me.”

    “Oh, um, sorry. I apologize for just . . . um showing up.” Bette attempted a small smile in the blonde’s direction. Her heart skipped a beat at the sight of Tina. Lord, it was so good to see the blonde. “Of course you weren’t expecting me.”

    “Uh, no. No I . . .  I wasn’t.” Tina regained her composure and quickly returned the smiled. “But it’s so nice to see you. Um, please come in.”

      What a pleasant surprise to see an update on this awesome story!

      I hope everything is going well with you and your family.

      Bette going to visit Tina and Ashley after she just only came back and heard the message from Tina to the on call doctor to look and care for Ashley herself.

      Glad Tina asked Bette to stay for a cup of tea, they chit chatted and although Tina hoped for a more in depth conversation it’s a start, Tina is obviously very proud of Bette’s successful career and what she has achieved so far and is still the Bette she knows from the past, involved and attentive.

      Tina also noticed Bette’s tiredness, the trembling of her hand and how she fainted two weeks prior in the office. She is a smart lady and suspects it’s more than the tiredness and stress from work.

      For now, no anger, arguing, just a nice chat over a cup of tea.

      My wife and i will visit a dear friend in the UK in October but i can tell you we will not chat with a cup of tea, she doesn’t like tea, can you imagine, an English resident who doesn’t like tea

        This scene was one option to allow Bette & Tina to talk in a non confrontational manner and be at ease with one another again. The attraction they have for one another is still present and undeniable, regardless of what Bette might think or want.

        You’ve picked up the obvious clues in Bette’s appearance & Tina’s keen ability to see through her.

        Hope you enjoy your vacation in Oct & give Big Ben a wave from me!! I miss London & all the sights!!

    4. So great to see this update! I loved so many things in this chapter – Tina takes such good care of her little sister Ashley, Bette showing up at the door when she saw Tina’s request for the on=call doctor, Bette & Tina having tea and chatting – you could see their connection is still alive. And Tina was so affectionate, cupping Bette’s cheek and kissing her cheek, how much longer can Bette resist, lol.

    9. Sorry if I’m late to the party, but this chapter was very good. Loved the reconnection between Tina and Bette. You always write them in such a loving way it’s like a caress to one another.
