Tina looks up at her and smiles.

(Tina) I won’t be finishing this today, will I?

(Bette smiles) It’s unlikely

Tina places her book to the side along with Bette’s and moves over her, in the process jolting the hammock to one side and causing them both to have to throw their weight to the sides to stop it from flipping over. They look at each other from their bracing positions on either side of the hammock with smiling eyes.

(Tina) Bedroom?

(Bette smiles) Good idea

Later, they are both getting ready for an evening out in the village, Tina choosing an outfit in the bedroom while Bette speaks to her while applying her make up in the ensuite.

(Bette) Should we have a drink and then dinner at that restaurant you pointed out yesterday?

(Tina) Yes, that sounds nice.

Tina chooses a dress and pulls it over her head.

(Tina) I actually have to make a phone call before we go though. Why don’t you go ahead once you’re ready and I won’t be far behind

Having finished in the ensuite Bette walks into the bedroom and goes to ask her about her call before looking at Tina and sensing her usual apprehensiveness with any topic too centred on home.

(Bette) Ah, sure, well I’m ready so I’ll head there. Take your time, I’ll have a drink at the bar while I wait

(Tina smiles) OK great

Tina makes her call and then quickly finishes getting ready, setting off to walk down to the village.

Tina walks into the busy restaurant and spots Bette sitting on a stool at the bar, next to a very attractive woman who is leaning towards her with a hand placed on Bette’s forearm. Tina stands back and watches them for a while, seeing the obvious desire in the woman’s eyes as she focuses all of her attention on Bette. The woman slides a piece of paper along the bar and places it in front of Bette while giving her a seductive smile.

Tina takes a breath and approaches, standing a step back but in Bette’s line of sight. Bette looks over and smiles at her.

(Bette) Hi

Tina smiles and raises her eyebrows.
