    Chapter 6 They pick up their car in Colonia de Sant Jordi and make their way on to Pollenca. They arrive at their pre-booked hotel which has apartment-style accommodation set in a beautiful historic building. They both look around their spacious room before moving to the balcony off the living area, standing together and taking

    Chapter 6

    They pick up their car in Colonia de Sant Jordi and make their way on to Pollenca. They arrive at their pre-booked hotel which has apartment-style accommodation set in a beautiful historic building.

    They both look around their spacious room before moving to the balcony off the living area, standing together and taking in the spectacular view of the coastline below.

    (Tina) Well, shall we extend our stay here from the outset? Three nights?

    Bette raises her eyebrows and nods in her direction and Tina smiles back at her.

    (Tina) Great

    They settle into the room and then walk down to the town, meandering through the streets together before settling on a restaurant in the Old Town for dinner.


    The next morning they have a leisurely lie in together before eventually walking from the hotel to the gallery that Bette was keen to visit. They walk hand in hand with fingers intertwined as they chat away to one another.

    (Tina) This is one of my favourites of the towns we’ve visited I think

    (Bette smiles) It’s beautiful. I think my favourite was Valldemossa

    Tina smiles over at her.

    (Tina) That was where we first spent the night together

    Bette smiles back at her.

    (Bette) It was. Are you implying my judgement may be clouded?

    Tina laughs.

    (Tina) Well

    She raises an eyebrow towards Bette.

    (Tina) Maybe

    They arrive at the gallery and Tina walks around the foyer reading some information displayed about the exhibit while Bette chats to a staffer nearby.

    Bette eventually finishes her conversation and they walk through to the main room together.

    (Tina) Is art a big interest of yours?

    (Bette smiles) Yes, I’ve always dabbled in it I guess

    Tina watches Bette as she moves around the room, losing herself in the artwork. She notices her intense and impassioned demeanour as she stands before each piece, and Tina finds herself moved as much by watching Bette as the actual artwork on display.

    After spending a couple of hours taking in the exhibit they come together and both reach for the other’s hand with a smile.

    (Bette) Ready to go?

    Tina nods and smiles at her, and they head towards the door.

    They walk back to their hotel along a track that runs parallel to the coast.

    2. :D Tina is on a mission to find Bette’s tattoo! She’ll probably inspect every square inch of Bette’s body just to find it. I bet they’ll both enjoy the search process;)
      I’m loving every moment of this adventure, katynd, which started out in the scenic island where my all-time favorite tennis player still lives! (#VamosRafa) Tina’s backstory is quite intriguing and I wonder if Bette is updating her friends about this wonderful turn of events. I’m in for the rest of the ride and I can’t wait to find out what happens to their deep, mutual attraction once vacation is over and they go back to the real world. Hopefully, they’ll find a way to keep their hands, fingers and day-to-day, ordinary lives intertwined. As always, thank you very much for writing and sharing this lovely, well-written story, katynd!
