“Hmmm … I didn’t think of that angle, actually,” Jules answered.  Diane could be right.  The show would enable her to publicize the bar more actively.”

“Anyway … I was going to tell you that I planned to drop by Todd English food hall, over in the Plaza’s basement area, to get us something.  Maybe your favorite sausages, and a couple of other things?”

Jules zipped her pants up, and exclaimed softly, “Aww … that’s so sweet of you, baby!”

Diane responded warmly, “I know how anxious you were about the shoot, Jules.  I know that this was a big deal for you, posing for pictures like that, so I thought maybe a relaxing night at home, where I can feed you comfort food would do the trick… and I’ve already asked Brett to take care of things in The Play Room, so you won’t have to drop by the bar tonight.”

A brain wave hit Jules.  She interrupted Diane, “Wait a second, honey.  Why don’t I meet you over at the Plaza, instead?  Maybe we can have dinner?”

“But aren’t you in Chelsea?  Why go all the way up to the Plaza?”

“Bear with me, ok, D?”

“Hmm… alright, I guess,” Diane responded uncertainly.  “What time?”

“Um… in an hour?”

“How about an hour and a half?” Diane asked.   “I want to finish something here at the office first.”

“Ok.  Meet you in the lobby at 6:30, then?”

“Alright,” Diane responded.  Then she added, “I love you.”

“J’adore mi amor,” Jules said, then gave her an audible kiss.

She hurriedly called the manager of the Spa of the Plaza after they hang up.  “Hi, Jules Thomson Mann, here.”

“Oui, mademoiselle,” the low cultured voice answered.

“I’d like to book a couple of treatments, for 6:30, if that’s possible.”

“Of course, mademoiselle.  Would you like the body wraps and the Premier Cru Facials?  Like the package you purchased for Mesdames Porter-Kennard?”

“Yes … they told me they absolutely loved it.”

“Merci.  Ok, you are down for two appointments for that package, at 6:30 today.”

After they hang up, Jules called the front desk of the Plaza to book a room for the night, and then asked to be connected to the hotel’s Champagne Bar, a cozy, romantic spot that Jules had taken Diane to during their second “date” (that was not a date but an outing, Diane had said).
