    Closure

It had been six months since Dana left Alice.  Alice went crazy for a while.  None of her friends knew how or, frankly, had the time or patience to try to help.  Bette and Tina were wrapped up in being new parents.  Shane was in the early stages of her first real romance with Carmen.  Jenny was back home trying to get help for herself.  And Dana…  Well, Dana was a big part of the cause.

The last time Dana and Alice talked was over two weeks ago.  This was during that insane car chase and it was a wake-up call for Alice.  She realized that she needed to get some space and try to get her life on track.  Seeing Dana regularly was not what she needed right now.

She called each of her friends to ask them to meet her at The Planet this morning.  She carefully timed the calls so that her friends would get the message either on their answering machines or voice mail.   She could handle if people did not show up, but, didn’t think she could handle the rejection over the phone.

Alice never had anything solid when she was growing up.  Her family was family in name only.  She only heard from them when there was a problem.  No one ever bothered with her other than that.  Alice found a new family with this motley group of friends.  It was the first time in her life that she felt accepted and part of something that was more than just herself.  It was as if there were finally people there that would be there for her.

    And Dana.  Oh, Dana.

They had an amazing connection as friends that seemed to intensify when they became lovers.  Alice gave her heart, soul, mind and body to Dana.  She loved so completely that it nearly destroyed her when Dana left.  Alice could see that she was crowding Dana.  It was like a movie she was watching that she couldn’t seem to change.  She desperately did not want to lose Dana and held on that much tighter as a result.  Holding on tight caused Dana to slip through her hands.

She had hoped that they could be around each other and maybe get some sort of friendship back.  The bitterness and drugs combined to make that impossible.  Alice hated to think about all that she did.  She would be amazed if any of the girls showed up this morning.

    1. MaGoose, I am thrilled to see your story and impressed by your courage to write. Overtime, I have read the comments you left on different Danish stories and found you insightful. As proven here in this first chapter of “Closure”, you have demonstrated that your ability to describe A’s feeling beautifully. I am especially touched reading page 3 and sympathize deeply for A. There is no reason for you to doubt the delivery of this story and I am positive that you will give us an awesome story. Looking forward to many many more updates. Thank you. p.s. I totally agree with HF’s comment.

    2. I’m SO sorry I didn’t comment on this sooner. I love it, although I think the group owes Alice an apology for the way they treated her just as much as she owes them one. I really hated the group in the beginning of Season 3. I know it was a tough situation, but you don’t treat your friend, who obviously needs professional help, like a nuisance and a joke. But that has nothing to do with your story, sorry! Lol. This is awesome, I’d love it if you continued. I want to know how the group reacts to Alice’s self-punishment, and I hope she sees that she really doesn’t need to feel that way. I’ve felt like that before and it breaks my heart, so you have to continue and give it a happy ending, okay? This is a great start.

    3. this totally don’t suck at all. It’s great, this is a really good start. I’ve always been a Dana fan and i know I always will but D wasn’t really good to Alice when she was on pills. Al went a bit crazy yes but she could’ve done something. Anyway, this is good. I hope to see an update soon. thanks :D
