Tina, dressed in her underwear, crawled under the sheets on, what used to be, her side of the bed. Bette sat down on the edge of the bed. She tucked the covers in around Tina’s trembling body while Tina looked up at her.
“Please come lie down next to me… please, Bette?” she whispered without taking her eyes off Bette.
“Are you sure? I can sleep on the couch…”
“Yes, I’m sure…”
Bette went around the bed and took off her boots. She held her breath, not completely sure this was such a good idea. But she wanted nothing more than to have Tina in her arms, hopefully providing her with the support she needed at this moment. She pushed herself close to Tina who turned around to face Bette.
“Take your shirt off… please…” Tina whispered.
Bette complied and dropped her shirt on the floor before resting her head on the pillow. Tina cuddled up close to Bette, burying her face at the crook of her neck. Bette drew in a loud involuntary breath, when Tina’s cold body connected with her own hot skin.
Bette felt Tina’s knee push against her thigh asking for access. Bette lifted her right leg a little for Tina to rest her leg in between hers. She put her arm around Tina’s back and drew her in as close as she could get.
Tina felt Bette’s skin burning. The heat transcended to her cold limbs. Bette’s heart beat close to Tina’s ear, letting Tina know it was okay to relax, to let sleep take over.
Bette listened to Tina’s breathing as it decreased in speed and became more steady. She felt the muscles in her body ease up as sleep found Tina. Bette could have sworn she would never fall asleep. She wanted to stay conscious to be able to remember every moment of having Tina sleep in her arms again. But only minutes went by before Bette’s eyes closed and she followed Tina into dreamland.

The first morning rays of the sun came through the window, creating odd patterns of light on Bette’s face. She stirred and opened her eyes. Tina was lying in exactly the same position as when they fell asleep. They hadn’t moved at all.
Bette’s arm that supported Tina’s head had gone numb. She had lost all feeling in the limb, but she didn’t move. Instead she kissed Tina’s hair, breathing in her sweet scent. Bette’s thoughts went back to the night before. She wondered what had happened at Henry’s place for it to result in Tina’s breakdown.

Bette is right Tina have been living under a lot of estress and sadness that she needs to start rebuilding her life with Bette. I hope they will be so happy together

Henry sucks! I think Bette will step up to the plate and carry a child. I don’t think Tina is mentally prepared to carry another child right now. I love the time they are spending together. They need this.
Thank goodness for second and maybe even third chances. Unfortunately, children do get caught up in adults’ messes. It is the adults who do not use the brains that were given to them at birth.
This is a really hopeful chapter, despite the sadness of their past mistakes and Tina losing Mikey. Great stuff, anker, post soon.
Bette said something about Tina being a mother some day. Would the baby be Bette’s? Hope so. Great chap, i felt sorry for Tina. Just like Bette was thinking, Tina has been through so much in the last year or so. When she makes it through this and maybe bette and her will get back together ;), she will be a stronger person. PPS

I’ve never been very fond of people who use children as pons. Love is not a game, and the one that usually gets hurt the most is the child. Fortunately none of my ex’s have ever kept the children away from me after we broke up. Our girls have been through a lot, but as always if they stick together they can pretty much just about accomplish anything.

Losing your own child before birth or after is devastating so I do understand Tina’s feelings towards Bette at that time as you’ve represented them…and losing a child u’ve shared with someone else is also devastating but I feel for Henry because it seems like he gave his heart to T…and he feels used…and I think T feels guilty for having done this…I do think Bette is the only one who can fix T…and no babies just yet…let T get better…and some alone time for them…then bring on the babies…I feel for Mikey and I just hope that Mikey’s mom might recognize that Mikey is fond of T…maybe T needs therapy from a woman who knows what its like….Bette is being so loving…PPS
A beautiful chapter and well written. I am very happy that Tina and Bette are finding their way back into each other’s hearts. True love never dies and their love was true. Tina never really loved Henry, she loved Mikey but never Henry. Henry was just an object in my opinion. Please continue with the wonderful story!
