The front door slammed downstairs making Tina jump up in shock. She quickly pulled the bedspread back to cover, what she should never have seen. She knew she had stumbled onto something that was never meant for her eyes.
Tina could hear Henry and Mikey talking in the hallway. She took a deep breath and went towards where the voices came from.
“Tina!” Mikey squealed and ran to her.
Tina bent down and scooped the boy into her arms. “Hey, my favorite boy…” Tina whispered into Mikey’s hair as she held him close. She closed her eyes to commit every sensation to her memory.
Henry was standing in the background watching the scene unfold.
“Wanna come play with me?” Mikey asked when Tina put him down.
“Yes, I wanna come play, honey… but I just have to talk to your dad for a little while. If you go to your room I’m gonna be there in ten minutes.”
“Ok… “ Mikey said and sprinted towards his room.
Tina looked at Henry. He stared back at her with bloodshot eyes. His appearance was ragged end tired. Tina shivered when she saw how he had changed since last Tuesday. He looked like a different man, cold and worn out.
“So…” Tina began.
“I think we should wait and talk after Mikey has been put to bed. I don’t wanna do this in front of him. You can play together until then,” Henry stated. He was obviously well prepared for how he wanted this day to go.
Tina acquiesced, “ok… if that’s what you want.”
Tina spent the rest of the afternoon in Mikey’s room, sitting on the floor, as the two of them went from one game to another. Tina tried her best to block out that this afternoon could be the last she spent with Mikey. They all had dinner together eating Chinese food at the big table in the living room, Tina and Henry acting civil to one another. Henry allowed Tina to tuck Mikey in. They sat close together on his bed as she read him far more books than what was customary. She couldn’t say no to him, when he asked if he could have another. Mikey fell asleep in Tina’s lap and that was how Henry found them, Mikey sleeping peacefully, Tina crying in silence.

I suppose losing access child and there being nothing one can do to stop it would render one numb. Henry’s clearly lost the plot. Good post, anker.
I hope Tina is OK, but she doesn’t deserve to be in Mikey’s life. She’s not really a friend of the family nor his mother. Appreciate the time you had and let Mikey be loved by his parents and perhaps the next woman Henry does marry. Henry didn’t even owe her the time she just had, he’s not the bad guy here. He gave her options and she made her choice. Nice that Bette was there to pick up the pieces again even though she may not get what she really wants out of the relationship with Tina.
that hendick is some piece of work… i do hope miky’s mom does call tina… i have a feeling she knows just how good tina has been to her son… so glad bette went to find her… and also taking her HOME… please continue
definitly this was so difficult for Tina but Bette was there to help her. I am with Amanda maybe Mike’s mom let Tina will be near mikey because she care a lot about him and mikey love her too, The little boy don’t have to suffer the anger of her father. well done girl
I hope Mikey’s Mother was glad to get rid of that ass hole. Maybe she will let Tina see Mikey when she has him. Thanks goodness Bette went looking for Tina. The options he gave her was horrible wrong. He just want that build in wife part time Mom and some one to take care of his needs. thanks

Okay this chapter wasn’t what I hoped for, but it is your story and only you know where you are headed with it. Unfortunatley there are no winners in a situation like this because everyone is hurting. I feel sorry for Mikey the most because he was the only totally innocent one in all of this and he can’t understand what is happening. He just knows that he loves Tina and she loves him. I am so glad that Bette went and found Tina. She will be there for her no matter what because her love for Tina is unconditional. This was a very emotional chapter anker and I can’t wait to read your next one. Thanks

What kind of man would use a child to try to get a woman to stay with him? That’s what he was doing…he let her stay and play and bond and tuck him in hoping at the end of the night she would stay out of love for the child. Shameful! I wouldn’t want someone who dosen’t want me.
Henry is a complete a**!!!! That is just wrong of him to do that to Tina and Mikey. I dont see how he could hurt his son like that. Maybe he will change his mind after he sees Mikey hurting b/c Tina’s not there anymore. Hopefully Tina will be ok b/c now she has lost 2 sons. Very sad but a great update. Now bring on the mushy stuff. LOL PPS
I can’t really understand how Tina bonded so closely to Mikey. But I guess it can happen. Tina needs to get her priorities straight w/Bette first. She can have a family w/Bette. Even on the show, I never understood why they didn’t try and work out their difficulties. Why Tina didn’t try. Yeah, Bette was wrong and I don’t condone it but Bette didn’t committ murder. But hell, it is difficult to tell a complex story in just twelve 50 minute episodes w/many characters. PPS.
Azmama…it could have been done…they just took a really wrong direction…they could have worked on it instead of bringing in all those new characters…they could have worked on it instead of concentrating on the really weird life of Jenny…oh lord don’t get me started…

WTF????happened to Tina there???? I can understand her upset but this seems a bit more than that…did Henry do something??? Poor Mikey, adults should be adults when kids are involved BUT easier said then done…Henry’s obviously a bit cuckoo with the photos and all in his bed!!!! He can’t force Tina to love him….great writing PPS

I know how hard it is to walk away from something that you love with all of your heart. When a child is added to the mix it makes it that much harder to swallow the pain. Sometimes you wonder is it easier to walk away and never look back or to walk away but yet visit once in awhile. What Henry had planned was not going to help Mickey but it would help him. If he really cared about Mickey and Tina he would have allowed them some time during the week just for them. He also could have just said that it would be too hard on him and Mickey right now for her to be around. Maybe in time she could visit, but for Henry to do what he did it just shows what type of person he is. Thank god that Bette followed up on her desire to know if Tina was okay. Bette can hold her close to her heart and just be there for her.
Yeayyy its time for B&T go home together!
