Bette looked at her, dumbfounded, “When exactly? … for fucksake Helena she’s sleeping with a man, I think I preferred it when she was sleeping with you …” Bette tossed out, casting a sidelong glance of mock disdain in Helena’s direction,
Bravery or not, it was a warning look,
Helena sipped her drink silently, “Want me to hook you up, with Papi? … I’m sure Alice could do it …”
Bette laughed, “No, I’m good thanks”
She didn’t remember Helena being quite so droll, or funny, did she always have a sense of humour like that and was it just hidden because they were rivals, wait … weren’t they still rivals? … but then Tina was with Henry and Helena was penniless, there wasn’t really anything to compete about anymore.
Bette threw her a bone, “Actually … there sort of is this one rather insane possibility …”
Helena raised one eyebrow, “Tell me more …”
Bette blushed, unsure if she could really bring herself to reveal the details of the tempting blonde grad student,
“My new TA …” she admitted softly, “she said I have nice arms …”
Helena grinned to herself as Bette held out her arms for inspection, amused at her companion’s ability to think she was anything less than utterly gorgeous, even to a twenty-something TA with the sex-drive of a rabbit,
“What?” asked Bette, put off by Helena’s silence,
Helena shook her head, staring into her drink, “Bette .. you’re a good looking woman”
They both coughed, nervously. Further inside from them, The Planet was filling up and the dance floor would soon be covered, every inch, by young sweaty bodies, dancing fervently,
Bette sighed, answering her own silent question, “Anyway … it would be like committing employment suicide,”
Seeing that her comment warranted further explanation she added, “I just got the job, I don’t need to fuck it up by fucking my TA”
Helena smiled knowingly, “Seems to me a little bit of uncomplicated sex never did anyone any harm”
Bette gave her the ‘Dean Porter’ look, “My TA is hardly uncomplicated”
Helena laughed, “Well I wouldn’t know about that … I haven’t met her”
“You’re bad” muttered Bette, “you’ve been spending way too much time with Alice”

I’m going to have to re-read to get the full impact all over again, kinda like when you take one of those rides at a theme park and just haven’t had ENOUGH adreneline. you captured the total essence and hotness of helena/bette…how great they would be together if only…if only…fantastic sofa, just fantastic. smack on the behind for you!

I hesitated u know cuz its HelBette but because it was you, and I so love your writing I could not deny myself the treat!!!! and treat it truly was….congrats on the noms, of course u so deserve ’em…now if u decided to continue this story, I think I could just bear to read more (lol)….as long as u write in a ‘happy’ tina with someone fabulous. see? you HAVE to do this again…cuz people liked it too much…and you’ve gotta do it for the PEOPLE! see? i told ya so. ok, another brilliant thing, and then I’ll write more brilliant things about this story later: is how you captured that ‘in the moment’ buzz that characterizes so much of what is perfect about this paring. they’re tooootally in the moment, not worried about baggage and nonsense. totally chill–you got that, which is itself, totally chill of you. ok, i’m going to sleep now and will rave about this more tomorrow. i’m gonna talk you into doing this again, i promise you that;)
Thank you for all the comments people have left, I wanted to reply here rather than in my next story, to sort of ‘book in’ and ‘book out’ the belena fic. I said I wouldn’t write another one, and I certainly won’t for a while, just because I have others already on the go and also exams coming up, but I wouldn’t rule it out in the future just on the basis of not wanting to write belena, it doesn’t flow as easily for me as writing tibette but then i suppose it isn’t always a bad thing to step out of your niche .. anyway, thank you for all the comments, well done to the other writers and i hope everyone enjoyed the challenge. Wow, that was… intense. Are you sure you’re still a Tibetter, Sofa ?… ‘Cause I’m starting to have doubts about that… Tina Who ? LOL !!! I mean, for a die-hard Tibetter, you have quite an imagination ! LMAO !Anyway, you are simply brilliant ! Really, it seems you have written BeLena stories all your life. In fact, I’m curious : how much research did you do about Helena exactly ? I’m sure it must have been a huge sacrifice for you, huh ? !
