She turned around and left.

Tina had finally managed to get rid of the Press.
She had answered all kinds of questions about the children and the circumstances of their siege at the embassy.
Of course, she had not failed to mention the remarkable role of James, her assistant, and of Kit Porter, an amazing and devoted humanitarian worker from the Red Cross, who despite the ordeal she’d just experienced, had chosen to remain in Santaragua to continue her work. The blonde had also highlighted the significant part played by the partisans during their miraculous rescue.
But most of all, and with obvious emotion in her voice, Tina had praised the unique courage of Professor Bette Porter who, beyond fighting a dreadful epidemic both as a doctor and a researcher in the worst conditions, had been the one to save them all by going for help at the risk of her life.
All through the interview, Tina had scanned the crowd and tried to spot the brunette, but without success.
After exchanging a few words with the Mayor and several other high-up people, she was finally able to join her friends standing near the children who were monopolizing the buffet.
Surprised not to see Bette with them, she frantically looked around, hoping to find her amongst the crowd. When she didn’t, she started questioning her friends about the brunette’s whereabouts, but none had actually seen her after leaving the plane.
That’s when her eyes found Shane’s. The young woman held her gaze and from the look in her eyes, Tina understood that she would not see Bette again tonight.
That simple realization made her heart ache so intensely that for the next few seconds, she couldn’t breathe. She could feel the tears in her throat and had to fight with all her might to hold them back.
And suddenly she was cold… So very cold.
She heard people chatting around her. She saw the boys eating and laughing, their mouths covered with chocolate. She felt her friends pad her back and hug her cheerfully. It was a moment of celebration. They were back. They were home. They were alright. They were happy. It was a moment of joy…
But not for Tina.
Because the one person she wanted the most at this celebration was missing. And for the blonde, this one absence was enough to take all joy away…

I know her business keeps her hopping but I think Helena can feel Tina pulling away from her and that is why she is keeping her distance so she wont have to hear her say she thinks they are better off just being friends. Great chapter by the way.

oh boy i thought this would be a happy chapter :P but pff so much drama.. so please let them be together tonight, i can’t stand a sad tina.. and of course it would be heaven for bette if tina choose her! i never got it why tina maired helena in the first place but grr this is too much! i wanna thank you for this update and i’m looking forward to the next :) i hope to see a very happy bette and tina :D happy newyear to all!

If I was Tina I would have left Helena’s inconsiderate but a long time ago. I hope Tina ends it soon so she can truly be with Bette. Have a Happy New Year
