Jenny yelled back then turned to go check out the kitchen and the rest of the house alone.

Alice rolled her eyes then begin walking around the living room.

Back room…

Bette frowned her eyes as she listened to the male cop voice on the other end of the phone.

Bette: Yes we’re out of gas on the side of the road, we just need a tow truck or something to pull us into the nearest town.

Shane: Hey Bette I’m just gonna look around for a bit.

Shane whispered to Bette.

Bette: I don’t think that’s a good ideal Shane, remember stay together.

Bette covered the receiver of the phone with her hand as she whispered back to Shane.

Shane: I know but I’m not gonna go far, I’ll just be standing here around the corner.

Bette nodded her head as Shane walked off.

Officer: Tow truck you say? We don’t have one of those around here.

Bette: Fuck.

Bette said into the phone.

Officer: But if you want I can send Marty out there to give you and your friends a lift into town. He will be there in the early morning and then you can go get gas and drive back to your vehicle.

Bette closed her eyes and let out a breath as she felt a sense of relief that she hadn’t felt ever since the trip started.

Bette: Yes yes thank you, that would be fantastic.

Officer: Oh no worries, that’s what we officers are here for.

Bette: I really appre…

Before Bette could thanked the officer again, he had quickly hung up.

Bette: Hello?

Bette heard the dial tone so she hung her end of the phone up.
