Dead End – Chapter 5(Inside the House) Part 1
Bette left out the back room to go tell the rest of the gang the good news, completely forgetting all about Shane.
Further down the hall…
Shane was walking room to room scoping out the place until she saw a small patio just outside one of the back rooms. She decided to step outside and take a smoke break, she figured one cigarette wouldn’t hurt and its not like she was far away from the gang if anything happen, only two rooms down and against her better judgment she unlocked the small door and stepped outside into the darkness. Shane took a cigarette from the Menthol box and lit it. With the coolness from the air and the relaxation from the nicotine of the cigarette, Shane closed her eyes and inhale then exhale until the patio filled with smoke. The smoke lingered in the air for more seconds then usual. The blurry fog began clouding Shane’s vision as she fanned it away from her face. Once the dusk had cleared, the figure of a small child stood in the middle of the forest. The child watched on as Shane huff, puff and blew out more smoke. It took a few seconds before the young brunette caught a glimpse of the presence that study her every move. At first Shane thought her eyes were deceiving her, no way possible could a child be standing there awaiting for someone…or something but it was, there were no deceiving in Shane’s eyes but the realization that she or just maybe they…were not alone.
Clearing her throat.
Shane: Hey there little one, are you waiting for someone.
Usually Shane wasn’t the feared one of the group, it was always one of the more delicate woman of the gang to show such fear in their voices like Tina or Dana, but Shane’s voice cracked with a tremble as she now wish she didn’t wander off alone. It didn’t take a blind man to notice that something was strange about the child, his face glowed with a paleness that made him shine in the darkness not to mention the ripped white shirt he had on. He stood there staring at Shane with the same look of horror on his face that Shane possess but unlike Shane, the boy wasn’t afraid of her but of something much more terrifying…the house.
Shane: Are you lost? Do you need help?
Shane called out to the boy again but had no luck for an answer.
Shane flicked her cigarette on the ground and jumped over the patio rail and began walking towards the boy but before she could take a few steps, the boy eyes widened as he looked at something past the brunette shoulders, his heart skipped beats, the chest moved forcibly up and down, and the boy took off running into the dark woods as fast as lightening with Shane following on his trails.
Shane: Hey wait! Come back!
Shane yelled out as she struggle to keep up with the boy’s fast movement. The woods had turned a shade darker than before which made it hard for Shane to see and she came tumbling down to ground as her foot got caught on a sharp branch sticking straight up from the ground.
Shane: Argh Fuck!
Shane screamed in agony as she rubbed her hands down towards her feet to feel the pain since she couldn’t see it. She felt the long pointed wooded stick plunged deep into her foot and knew she needed to get back to the house, she was hurt but more importantly she was lost in the middle of the dark woods with no light to guide her through.
Shane: Shit I’m screwed!
She cursed out loud at herself…screwed she was indeed but she wasn’t about to be the only one.
Meanwhile…
Jenny had found herself in the basement of the house.
Jenny: Wow
She said in amazement as she looked upon an old painting of a woman. If you looked closely at the picture it almost looked as if the eyes were following your every move…but these weren’t the eyes of a stalker, they were the warning of a destruction. An evil that was about to make itself known and the worst part was….the gang had just landed theirselves right in the midst of it. They had just sailed right into the eye of the storm and it would be soon when they will come to realize that help would never arrive and the night…had barely just begun.
