Dean End – Chapter 3 (The Mystery Woman)

Tina roll her eyes and started looking for a phone while Dana, Alice, and Kit mingled around the store for more snacks…all of this excitement was starting to make them hungry and since they haven’t made it to a real food place yet, this was all they had to eat since being on the road.

Tina: Shit there’s no phone here you guys…who doesn’t have phone, I mean that’s just weird.

Kit: I don’t know about you but I’m getting my ass back in that car.

Kit started making her way towards the door until Alice stopped her.

    Alice: I don’t think that’s a good idea.

Kit: And why the hell not?

Alice: Well if you look at the stats, you guys don’t last very long in these type of things, if you get my drift, so going out there alone…not a good idea.

    Tina: Alice!

Tina gasp and cover her mouth at the rude comment.

Kit: Alice if you wasn’t so right, I would kick your little white ass right now.

Kit smiled and pushes Alice out her way as she goes back to walking around the store.

    Alice: See.

Alice stuck her tongue out at Tina who just shook her head…she still couldn’t believe the things that came out of Alice’s mouth sometimes.

About another five minutes later Bette and Shane came walking from the back with hopeless looks on their faces.

Tina: I take it that you didn’t find him.

    Bette: Nope, no one.

Tina: Well that’s just perfect because we didn’t find a phone either.

    Jenny: Um you guys?

Everyone kept talking not paying any attention to Jenny.

Bette: Damn who doesn’t have phone these days, what are we, back in the stone age.

    Tina: My point exactly.

Alice: You know it’s like in that movie where…

Shane held her hands up for Alice to stop speaking.

Shane: Enough with the movies Al, this is real life and we got a fucking stranger out there who is obvious suffering from post traumatic shock, we need to do something.

Jenny: WAS suffering from post traumatic shock.

Dana: Jenny what are you talking about WAS, she still is.

Jenny: Well if you wasn’t so busy arguing you would notice that…

Jenny pointed out the window and everyone walked outside to get a better look and that’s when they saw it, the doors to the SUV was propped open and inside they found no one…the mystery lady was gone.
