Discovering Aphrodite
Bette’s mind took in the fact she was being watched by almost everyone around her. Her eyes, however, only took in Tina’s gaze from about the magazine she was reading. She smiled slightly, fully aware of the effect she must be evoking with her long but slow strides towards the beautiful, blonde woman laying beneath the parasol.
Tina watched as Bette walked towards her, her bare feet taking slow and deliberate steps, leaving wet footprints on the paved surface around the pool.
Tina’s eyes dropped from Bette’s face to peruse the body she had devoured many times on the past few days. Was it actually possible that this woman walking towards her was the one she had slept beside…? The one she had ripped the towel from and fucked against the wall…? Was she the one who had given her a stone in the shape of a heart…? Was she the one…
“You should have come in for a swim…” Bette said nonchalantly as she grabbed her towel and dried her face.
“Huh?” Tina said as she was roused from thoughts she couldn’t shake from her mind.
“Swim. You should have come in.”
“Oh…, its fine…, I was just reading. Anyway, you disappeared quite quickly; I thought maybe you wanted some time…” Tina trailed her words off as she looked directly at Bette.
“We should talk shouldn’t we?” Bette said quietly as she sat on her lounger beside Tina.
They looked at one another silently, both knowing that ‘talk’ meant the potential for deep and meaningful when in realistic terms all they wanted to do was to avoid anything that was deep and meaningful for fear of ruining their last full day.
Tina lent forward, “come here…”
Bette lent across to meet Tina halfway, her lips parted in anticipation.
It was a long, soft and gentle kiss which screamed and hollered far more than any words in that moment could conjure. It was the silencing of ‘the talk’, just for a moment, at least.
Bette settled back on the lounger, allowing the sun to dry her body after the swim. She closed her eyes and tried to relax her galloping mind. It was almost as if now that she had acknowledged the need to talk that her head wouldn’t allow room for relaxation until she had uttered the words that raced through her brain.

Hello Jobadge o/ Thank you for coming back and continue writing this story… :-) I am looking forward to read more of your masterpieces! … Though it seems now is a good time to sit and hold on tight after reading this chapter … :-/

Hey Jo, that is the second good thing to have happened to me today! Progress on a special project and a post from you! 2500 miles is a great distance indeed that will mean stretching those heart strings a great deal! This is tugging at mine already! Mind you for BP I’d swim the distance …… Thank you for posting! :0)
Thank you for posting another chapter. Now they just have to figure out what they are going to do about the distance. It’s not so bad. :) I look forward to more.
Thank you so much, Ive missed your stories, please post more.
Hey now, I thought Ally was the drama queen!! You’ve been spending way too much time with her! ;) And yet, I love this chapter! Thanks so much for coming back and resuming this wonderful story… Hi, my name is Kword75, and I HAD been several months without a Jobadge dose! But today I succumbed again and I am now back to being a Jobaddict! Please, I need more!…
Really enjoying the story…don’t go away now..
oh man, it’s far…sounds like my life, i hate long distance…let’s hope they can manage to get closer….so glad to see you posting :)
Awww I was hoping that they would both be southern California girls. :(
Hey ;)loving the update…and loving that your writing again…always worth the wait. catch ya soon x
Had to go back and read from the beginning as something tells me that Tina is holding back an important piece of information. I get the feeling that Richmond is not truly where she lives… maybe she’s there for a limited time?? Can’t wait to see where you take this. Fantastic reading!
The way Tina was stumbling over telling Bette of her hometown sounds like she lives somewhere else or is moving to a different town. Maybe she is waiting for Bette to commit before she tells her the real story? PPVS
Say it ain’t so, Jo. Is it too late to give one or both of them superpowers? You know, like Superman. Let ’em fly!
Well bummer, I don’t think that is one of those lets have coffee distances, but more like holiday distances. Ummm, maybe a move is in the future for one of our fair ladies.
Yea–You came back with it! I was so glad to see you were resuming this story! Can’t wait for the next post!
In my diluted romantic brain I thought they would both say California, but no – would have been too easy. Looking forward to their solution and your next post.
Thank you for another amazing update. Love this story but did they need to live so far away from each other. Thank you again love your writing.
I m hoping for a happy end.So glad you are back.Thank you for the update.
I WANT MORE ! I WANT MORE ! I WANT MORE ! I NEED MORE !!! JO, how can you do this to us ?? ;) Seriously, where is the rest ? Great job in keeping the suspense up !!! I kinda believe they’re going to find a way to work something out, but how and when ?
