Tina smiled, “oh yeah, me and Aphro are like this now…” she laughed as she crossed her fingers and held them up. “Do you think we’ll have time to see the Baths of Adonis before the car goes back?”
Bette smiled, it was incredible the conversations they were having with such ease considering they had only just met. It flowed so seamlessly that if anyone saw them or heard them they would have thought they had known one another for years.
“We’ll make time…”
“Did you read about it?”
“A little…” Bette lied, already having done some major research to go with her prior knowledge of Greek mythology.
“It says here that it’s the place where Aphrodite and Adonis bathed after they made love…, and they had children here…, oh my god…”
Bette looked across as Tina spoke the words, “what’s the matter?”
Tina read quietly from the book, “the Adonis baths are also the place where Adonis was to die in the arms of his lover Aphrodite after a man disguised as a wild boar fatally wounded him in battle…, that’s so sad…”
“Didn’t you know that their romance was tinged with tragedy…?”
“Tinged…, Bette, he died, that’s more than a tinge of tragedy. And no, I didn’t know…, I was feeling a kind of kinship with Aphro up to now…”
Bette smiled at the cuteness that Tina was showing, from the boldness of her tugging Bette’s towel and pushing her up against the wall to the sad voice on discovering that Adonis had died in ‘Aphro’s’ arms…
Bette swallowed a constriction in her throat, she tried hard to take a deep breath, reminding herself of their situation. This woman was getting to her.
Holiday.
Romance.
“Do you still want to go there?” Bette asked as she reached for Tina’s hand, placing it on her leg as she continued to drive.
“Yeah, I think it’d be kinda nice seeing we’ve done the Aphrodite stuff don’t you?”
“Yeah it would, complete the story of our discovering Aphrodite…”
They made their way along the winding road towards the car park of The Kourion, noticing all the signs for the different areas as they drove.

Another wonderfully written chapter Jo. I think that Bette and Tina are going to find that this much magnatism between two people in just a few days will not subside when the holiday does. How could either of them walk away after this…it’s not just a holiday romance. I hope the hospital visit is a short one Jo…looking forward to your next post.

“it’s not a myth and I am not kissing you with morning breath…” !! I knew Tina was the voice of reason and wisdom ! Hahaha ! But seriously, everytime I’m reading a fic and two people are described kissing in bed in the morning I can’t help but think to myself : ” whaaat ? They haven’t even brushed their teeth but they’re already just one caress away from having sex !! “. I really liked the fact that this was realistic, Jo, even though this all seems like a fairytale… Anyway, I’ve only found out about this new story of yours a couple of days ago but I’m very very fond of it. I love the lighthearted spirit of it ( even though we all know you’re the queen of drama. Hehehe ! ) and the contrast with the intensity of B & T’s feelings for each other ( since I guess it’s pretty clear they’re already in love with each other, even though they’re probably scared to admit it to themselves so soon ). You are a wonderful storyteller, Jo and I think your talent as an author is still unmatched in the history of fanfiction. At least, your prose is delightful to me and I’m once again completely hooked on one of your fics. Oh, and did I mention how endearing your Tina is here ? ( this from one of Bette’s biggest fan ).
