    Do Better – Chapter Three

“Yes, I was also so livid last night about how she could have our own daughter lie to her parents. It wasn’t a pleasant conversation.”

“Did she say anything about Angie?”

“Only that our daughter is more grown than we realize she is.”

“She does not know our daughter more than us. I no longer want her talking to her. And I mean it, Tina.”

We stand in silence, both looking away from each other.

We snapped back to reality when we heard footsteps approaching.

“What’s going on? Mama B why are you here?” Angie sighs. “Is this about not allowing me to have my phone last night?”

“Yeah and your mother and I have decided it’s time for you to lose Carrie’s number.” Tina says walking towards Angie.

“She has done nothing wrong talking to me.”

“Angie-“ I cut in. “She wanted you to lie to us, to never tell us you were in contact with one another.”

“Give me the passcode because I’m going to be deleting her from your phone.” Tina says as I watch her walking back towards the counter to retrieve Angie’s phone.

“You got to be fucking kidding right now!” Angie starts to get angry and rolls her eyes.

“Watch your tone with your mother. Anyone that tells you to lie to your parents are not the type of people we want you talking to.” I exclaim.

I watch as Tina goes through the phone and deletes Carrie’s contact information and then hands the phone back to Angie.

“That’s it, I’m leaving.” Angie says again, rolling her eyes.

We watch as she turns to walk away. We hear the door open and then slam shut.

“Do you think we are doing the right thing, Bette?”

“Our first priority is our daughter, Tina.”

“But what if all they were doing was just simply chatting about things?”

“Then Carrie should have confronted you about their chats together.”

“Maybe since she’s known Angie for such a long time now, she didn’t think she needed permission.”

“I understand that but why wouldn’t she pick up your phone calls or answer your messages? Give you even the slightest acknowledgement?”

“Because she’s mad with me, Bette.”

“I’m sorry to say this, Tina but if she truly cared for you, she would have at least tried to listen to your side of the story.”

    Comments

    1. Great chapter.

It still hurts Bette that Tina left her for that woman and now that woman is talking with Angie behind their back and I’m don’t trust her, she wants Angie to meet someone?

She is using Angie to hurt Bette and maybe Tina as well. And Angie thinks she is so grown up and think that woman can be trusted. No way.

Sorry, i can’t say out or write that woman’s name.

Bette going to work on herself is positive but Tina should do it too, Bette always blames herself but Tina played a very big part in their on and off relationships. She is known to hide her feelings and instead of talking to Bette she runs away every time it gets to much.

I’m enjoying this story. Thank you.
