    Do Better – Chapter Three

“But Bette, I don’t blame her for not wanting to hear my side of things. I seen it written across her face that night.”

“She wanted our daughter to lie to us. I don’t appreciate that.”

I feel Tina getting defensive about Carrie but I know it’s from the goodness of her heart. I understand because I know she never wanted things to end like that. I understand her wanting to protect a part of Carrie’s reputation. I know she was a big part of Tina’s life for a long time. I know Tina’s feelings for Carrie aren’t just erased like something written on a chalkboard. I also know Tina knows the way Carrie has always been like a rash under my skin and I can’t scratch it. The feeling of her leaving me for her still hurts me.

“I have no way of getting in contact with Carrie now because after last night’s call, I did sort of accuse her of wanting to get back at me through Angie. She hung up on me.”

“Is it safe to say I have been feeling the same way? I don’t trust her Tina, never have.”

“Bette, you guys didn’t like each other from the start.”

“Do you blame me? You left me for her.”

    “I’m not going there, Bette.”

“I’m sorry.” I say looking down at the ground. “I didn’t mean to bring that up but that’s my reasoning, Tina.”

“I know, I know.” She repeats.

“Did you want to go grab something to eat?” I suggest to her. “Let’s stop talking about this for a while and focus on ourselves.”

“Yeah, sure. I would like that.”

    Tina

I sit across from Bette at the table as she munches down on her food. I tend to just play with mine, taking little bites. I enjoy Bette’s company, I always did. But there have been too many things on my mind. But the biggest question is where does this lead for her and me? Do we start over again? Bette hasn’t rushed anything with me and I appreciate that. I know she thinks about it too. But our thoughts have been occupied by other things. We haven’t even gotten a chance to talk about us.

    “Are you ok?”

    1. Great chapter.

It still hurts Bette that Tina left her for that woman and now that woman is talking with Angie behind their back and I’m don’t trust her, she wants Angie to meet someone?

She is using Angie to hurt Bette and maybe Tina as well. And Angie thinks she is so grown up and think that woman can be trusted. No way.

Sorry, i can’t say out or write that woman’s name.

Bette going to work on herself is positive but Tina should do it too, Bette always blames herself but Tina played a very big part in their on and off relationships. She is known to hide her feelings and instead of talking to Bette she runs away every time it gets to much.

I’m enjoying this story. Thank you.
