“Thanks.” Shane walked away from the window and took a seat. She grabbed a magazine and flipped through the pages. She heard heels hitting the floor and looked up. She saw a blondish brown walk up to the window. She watched her from behind the magazine.

“Hey Kelly. How’s everything going?”

The receptionist looked up and smiled. “Hi Elise. Everything’s going alright. So are you looking for your mom?”

She smiled and tapped her foot. “Yeah, is she working?”

“Yeah, she’s with a patient right now. I’ll tell you’re here.”

“Thanks Kelly.” Elisa walked away from the window and took a seat a couple of seats across from Shane. She looked at Shane and smiled. Shane looked at her and smiled. She looked back down at the magazine and waited for the doctor. She kept catching herself looking over the magazine at this woman in her sight.

A doctor walked from the hallway and stood in the room. “Shane McCutcheon?”

Shane looked away form the magazine. “Yeah.”

The doctor smiled. “Come with me please.” Shane put the magazine down and stood up. She walked away from her seat and walked past Elise. Elisa looked up at Shane and smiled again. Shane smiled and looked away. She followed behind the doctor and went down the hallway.

            Carmen was sitting at The Planet waiting for Olivia to meet her for lunch. She took a drink of her green tea and sat the cup down. She looked down at her laptop and began working on her paper again. The chair moved, and someone sat down.

“Hi Carmen.”

Carmen looked away from her laptop. “Oh, hi Jenny. What’s going on?”

Jenny smiled. “Nothing really, how are you?”

“Okay I guess. So how’s Shane?”

“She went to the clinic today.”

Carmen nodded her head. “I’m proud of her. I’m glad that she’s deciding to make a change.”

Jenny sighed. “Well, she’s making the change for you. She thought that she had a chance with you Carmen.”

“Please Jenny, not here. I really don’t want to talk about this.”

“You shouldn’t of said yes. That was your first mistake right there.”
