    Bette finds out where Tina has gone

    She is napping now, so I thought I would send you a quick note. There is apparently nothing that Tina needs at the moment. She has clothes, etc. It looks like she packed planning to stay a couple of weeks. I was totally surprised when she called me from the airport to ask if she could come and stay with me. Shes always made me come to visit her because she refuses to set foot in Florida. Like it is never hot in LA? Just one of the inconsistencies that makes Tina so adorable.
    She called Alice today to let her know that she is okay – I dont think she told her where she is.
    I always admired you and Tina. Given that Ive never had a relationship last longer than a year, I always thought that the two of you were the pedestal to which to aspire. I guess that you were both pretty good at faade. If it was faade, she did it as well as you, because there werent any real hints of trouble in our communications. We emailed each other several times each week so, there was opportunity if she had wished to tell me anything.
    I told her that you sent your love. I didnt get much of a reaction – I know that is probably disappointing to you, but look at it this way – I didnt get a negative reaction either.
    I really dont know what else to say at this point, Im waiting for Tina to open up to me more than she has. At this point all I really know is that you had an affair and she left town. My experience has always been that it takes 2 to make and break a relationship so, I suspect that there is much she isnt telling.
    Try to hang on, it will work out somehow.

    Chris,
    It was with gratitude that I read your latest email, although I think that you may be in error. I am afraid the breaking of the relationship only took one. I did have an affair, short lived, because Tina found out about it. Whether it would have continued longer, I cannot say.
    I am glad to hear that Tina called Alice. Our friends are worried about her. I wouldnt want their friendship to suffer because of my inadequacies.
    Again, please give her my love if she will accept it.
