    Emotional Rollercoaster

“Good evening Los Angeles. This is The Chart on KCRW, and yes, it’s me again. It’s Alice Pieszecki with more gossip in West Hollywood.” Alice closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

“It’s been a long, depressing six months for me. The loss of my best friend and lover, Dana Fairbanks is still fresh in my mind. My family of friends is still in what I call WeHo hell. Bette is still battling for custody for her little girl, and Tina is still sleeping with the man.”

Bette walked around her empty home, beer bottles and wine glasses cluttered the rooms. She looked at an old picture of her and Tina in a frame. She picked it up and threw it across the room, making the frame shatter against the wall.

“As for Shane and Carmen, no reports on the whereabouts of Miss McCutcheon or Miss de la Pica Morales. Everything went down the drain after that dreadful night in Canada. Shane just has a problem with commitment.”

Shane walked the lonely streets of LA, taking a drag of her cigarette. Carmen helped her mother in the kitchen. She smiled faintly and continued to cook. She took a deep breath and looked away from her mother.

“Jenny and her lover Moira—sorry I mean Max are still on the kaput. Jenny still on her rage about heterosexuals and how Max became a complete jerk which is the opposite of the sweet and kind outsider Moira.”

Jenny sitting at the bar finished off the rest of her beer and sat the bottle on the counter. She saw Max talking to “normal people” as she called them and walked away from the bar.

“Miss Helena Peabody is still traumatized by her mother’s reaction of the disastrous wedding and caught her off—financially. Now, she’s struggling to keep her studios open and try to take care of herself and a place to live.”

Helena walked around her beach house with a glass of wine. She licked her lips and took a drink. She walked into her room and looked out the window.

“As for me—I’m trying my best to live another day. Lara and I need to discuss about our relationship, and where it’s gonna go.” She licked her bottom lip and took a deep breath. “I’ve stopped taking Dana’s pills, and I’ve been going to therapist. I’m hoping that I’m making progress. I just want everything to be the way it used to be. My friends and me having a good time at the Planet, talking about anything and everything—but the happy days are over.” Alice sighed heavily. “This is Alice Pieszecki and this is the Chart on KCRW. You lovely, lonely and depressing people have a good night in Los Angeles. Good night.”
