Fall in Vermont – Chapter 22

I want to call Nancy that Feng Shui expert Oh my gosh this house has
not been Feng Shuid! This will never do Alices mom demanded.

Dana said nothing and she simply, quietly walked out the front door,
took a left, crossed the street and sat on Bette and Tinas front
stairs. Bette was relaxing on the stairs watching Jessie playing in the
    front yard.

Dana the look on your face says you are about to commit a criminal
act Its that obvious? Bette put her arm around Danas shoulder
giving her some much-needed comfort. Bette there is no way we are ever
having two kids, I would never make it through a second pregnancy The
moment you hold your son I promise you will forget the madness

Bette and Dana both started laughing but Dana was laughing and crying
at the same time. They want to do Feng Shui now its more than I can
handle Its not the Feng its how nutty they will be about it True
Dane, you come over and escape anytime Thanks Bette, I just needed
to calm down Dana and Bette exchanged a hug and Dana headed home.

Three days later Alice stepped out of the shower and suddenly felt like
another shower was happening. Her water was breaking. Dana! Dana
rushed in the bathroom and saw the puddle on the floor and the look on
Alices face. Ok Al, its baby time
The birth could never be described as quiet. Alice frazzled the
patience of two veteran nurses and her mother lasted in the room for
only a couple of hours. Through it all Dana never left Alices side.
And at 2:46am Shaun King Fairbanks made his mothers the happiest women
    in the maternity wing.

Shaun had beautiful olive skin and brown hair and lungs like his mother
Alice. Shaun had always been one of Alices favorite names and King was
for Billie Jean King, Danas greatest tennis inspiration. Tina, Bette
and Shane arrived soon after breakfast.

Alice was sleeping but Dana introduced them to the newest member of the
family and to their godson. Hes so beautiful Dana Tina said smiling
and rocking him in her arms. How did Alice do? Bette asked. Do you
see any nurses around here? Never tell her I said it but it was holy
hell, Dana laughed and the others joined in. My turn said Shane
    reaching for the baby

Bette and Tina smiled enjoying the moment. Bette whispered in Tinas
ear. You look really good holding a baby Their shared smile said
everything. Later that evening Bette, Tina and Jessie enjoyed a walk
around the neighborhood while Jessie wheeled around on her Dora big
wheel. Bette looked at Tina many times during the walk with a twinkle
in her eye and Tina felt the attention.

Bette, what are you thinking about over there? How beautiful you
looked holding that baby today And I thought you looked equally as
beautiful holding little Shaun So are re-thinking this subject?
Bette stopped walking to make her point. Its never been out of the
question Tee. Everything with Jessie is so perfect I just have not
wanted to upset that at all Bette, we have a lot of love and it would
only add to that love as a family. But Im still open to the idea of
    adoption too Really Tee?

When I worked at the center I was moved over and over again by the
need for families for kids. And you know Baby there were quite a few
biracial children and African American children in need I think after
our wedding we should look into it we have been blessed with a child
that shares a part of both of us and maybe adoption would be a great
    option for us

Speaking of our wedding Babe, how long are you going to try to keep this honeymoon secret? Bette smiled and gave Tina a wink.

    1. By all means ChakaSB, have them turn up the Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan. Interesting choice of music. Ooooowww! Aunt Vivian had a secret love! And a love child named Devon. Well! I guess that will neutralize her “normal” family campaign and knock her off her moral high horse. And a LOVE child is born to Alice and Dana. It goes round and round.

    2. I wonder what the big secret about Devon’s real father is? Maybe it’s really scandalous. So Bette and Tina are thinking about adding a new member to the family? I bet Jessie would love a little brother or sister. She’d be a great big sister.

    3. Davon and Aubt Vivian needs to get out of LA Bette and Tina new to try to have a child of their own. Let Alices mother go home she can be a pain. thanks

    4. A new Porter would be nice. Didn’t Tina want Bette to carry the next baby? Adoption is a great idea, but it would be nice to see a pregnant Bette. I will miss this story when you finish with it. I do hope that you will begin a new one for us to enjoy. Happy Easter and/or other holiday to you.

    5. Chaka, Lovely at the latest addition to the gang arrives. A little bitty baby boy who the gals all adore. Sorry to hear that this wonderful tale may be ending soon as I really enjoy every chapter appearing on the site. There are small treasures to savor and relish like candies on Christmas day. There just waiting to be consummed and give pleasure. I am just waiting for the wedding and honeymoon as that seems a great place to send the gals off into the sunset but I am sure that you could give us a sequel and highlight the drama in every day living. relationships need constant attention or they wether and dry. Thank you so much for this wonderful story. Your Loyal Fan.

    6. Excellent chapter girl. Aunt vivian is not so perfect huh? I am sorry this must end but all good things must come to an end sometime. You are an excellent writer and I hope you continue on with a new one.
