    Family Dinner

After a while, she entered the living room with a glass of wine in one hand and a bowl of choco ice cream in the other.
Angie was sitting on the sofa, still angry.
”I’m sorry Angie, really and deeply sorry”.
    No answer…
”More ice cream, as an offer of peace?”
    Silence…
”Look… ” said Bette, sitting down near her ”… I just want to do something good, I’ve only used the wrong words…”
”Oh my God mom! It has been so embarrassing for me! Can you understand this?!?” finally replied Angie, still a bit upset.
”Yes my dear, now I understand. I beg you to forgive me. But in the past days I remembered when I was young, a little bit older than you, and I tried to speak of my homosexuality to your grandparents, and it was such a disaster! They never want to listen to me, they never accept me! Your grandpa Melvin talked of Mama T as ”my friend” even when he was dying! I swore to myself that I never, ever let my children fell such sorrows like I did! ”
Touched in the heart, Angie replied: ”Thank you mom, and not only for the ice cream…” as she began to eat it “…but, seriously, you’ve been too rude!”
“Sorry again, Ang”. Then they smiled at each other, one of that smile that means: ok, we got it, now everything’s fine.

”I think…” started Bette, after a moment, and then she continued more resolutely: ”Look, Angie… I think you have nothing to be scared or afraid of. You’re a gorgeous girls, lovely and sensible. And I believe that also Jordie has the same fears as you. But don’t forget she’s a girl like you, so I’m pretty sure that what give pleasure to you she would like too.”
    Bette winked at Angie.
”But being in a relationship with someone isn’t just a matter of pleasure for the body, but it should be a pleasure for heart and mind, first of all. Don’t be selfish, try to don’t hurt Jordie’s emotions and feelings and to be the most lovely and true friend she can have. I wish you to love each others for a very long time but, and forgive me, you two are youngs and maybe you’ll encounter other persons in your life to fall in love with. If you build up a strong bond of friendship, maybe one day you’ll lost a lover but you’ll still have a friend, like happened to me and… “
Too late, Bette Porter, too late…
    “To you and… who, mom??”
… and too much wine, definitely – concluded the Tina-like voice in her mind.

    1. Hi Claudio,

I confess that I still can’t read about GenQ stories, especially where Bette and Tina are divorced, but you have written a great story!

I liked seeing the storyline between Bette and Angie and now reading it in your story, great job!

Is there a chance that you will write more stories about them? I would read them!

Thank you for sharing it with us!

      • Thank you!
What have you liked the most of my story?
Just the idea, or the words I used, or… whatever else?
About more stories… ok, I’ve a couple of ideas, but I don’t know if I’ll ever write them, I’ll let you know ;)

        Thank you again!

    2. WOW! We now have heterosexual men writing for this site. Sorry but am not going to continue on as they do not have the lesbian body parts or the lesbian experience. This is my opinion only.

      • You read my mind completely. I am not going to read this straight man’s story. He is totally ignorant of the subject matter and sounds like he likes underage girls. I personally do not want him here as his presence offends me.

    3. I expected some comments, but not about me being a straight man, instead about my story.
This little discrimination hurts me, as my only presence here offends someone of you.
Anyway, I don’t intend to be a problem, so I’ll leave your community soon.
I’ve only one question for you: do you think that if I published my story under a totally-invented neutral or (worst!) female profile would your opinions be different?

I just liked the idea of this story, and I try to write it focusing myself on the emotions and fellings of the characters involved in it.
Sorry again to hurt you all, it wasn’t in my intention.
      Bye

    4. I pay very little attention to the author except to recognize if I have read something in the past of theirs or if its a story that I am following. I just the story on its on merits and how it appeals to me – story line, and the arc from start to finish. The gender, the sexual orientation, the race or country of origin has does not figure into my reviews. I promise you – that is of no consequence to me.

Now, about your story. I found it very sweet. I imagine at this stage of Angie’s life, Bette will have several embarrassing conversations with Angie about sex. Parent – child conversations about anything sexual are always awkward and embarrassing. The desire of the parent to depart information and assist in a normal life, while the child would like to be having this conversation with anyone in the world but their parent. For most people, imaging your parents as having sex is just something that seams yucky! It is particularly true of Americans. However, most Americans have some of the more prudish views on sex and nudity and what is age appropriate and the parent’s role in giving this information.

At least in your story, Bette has the courage to at least initiate the conversation and even disclose one of her own adventures.. I do not know if I would have the courage to disclose something so personal But then again, I’m not Bette Porter. Enjoyed your story….would love to see you write more.

    5. Thank you to everyone!
I’ve in mind a couple of new stories, but I need some weeks to write them, I’m busy with others projects at the moment.

I promise that I’ll be the most invisible and discrete presence: I’ll delete my photo and I will not comment or post on the Activity Wall, I don’t want to hurt anyone of you.

      Thank you again.
