Fears Tears and Years
“Tina there is no doubt as shook up
as she got at seeing you last night and pursuing a friendship with your child says
she still cares. Hell she ran out of there like her ass was on fire and you
were rendered speechless. First time I ever saw that from you sis. All I can
say is she must give good love if you both react like that after all this
time.”
“Kasey she doesn’t love me she left
so quickly because she can’t stand the sight of me even after all these years.
I told you I hurt her so bad you just don’t know.”
“Well tell me then Tina we got time
over breakfast.”
“Kasey I’ve not talked about this
with anyone since I left her and it’s really hard ya know and besides you don’t
want to hear it you seem to forget that you too exiled me to the land of the
dead all that time.”
Kasey dropped her gaze from her
sister’s face because she knew it was true and she had no defense. Tina seeing
the hurt in her sister’s eyes she softened her harsh words with a follow up
statement. “Kasey I understand you were just a young teen when I first brought
Bette home but after you grew up you could have contacted me anytime.”
“I know Tina and I am sorry. But
surely you realize so much time had passed by then that I had convinced myself
you didn’t want to hear from any of us. You had moved past it and had a new
life. Then when you came back into the family with Henry and everyone seemed to
accept it I didn’t want to rock the boat. But the truth is Tina I missed having
my sister in my life and I will always love you no matter who you love and I
know you still love Bette.”
“I love you too Kasey but it
doesn’t matter now. Now my concern is the love of my child and I have decided
I’m going to talk to her today and tell her the truth all of it. But I don’t
think I can do it alone will you go with me?”
“Yes Tina I will…I love both you
and Angie and if I can help work this out I am more than happy to aide both of
you anyway I can. Just a thought but I think it would be best if you could do
it at a time when Maggie was there to support Angie. It’s an awful lot to take
in at once. I’m sure she will have a lot of questions after the shock wares
off.”
