Fears Tears and Years
“Yeah maybe your right. I’m going
to call her today and see if they can meet us here. It needs to happen
somewhere private and I don’t want to wait. Angie has the Kennard temper too
and I don’t want her going to Bette for an explanation of her behavior last
night blindsiding Bette. So much for our shopping plans…huh.” Tina said as she picked up her cell and
dialed Angie.
Angie sat and listened to the story
of her mother’s past without saying a word. But she gripped Maggie’s hand so
tightly she thought it was going to break. During the whole sorted tale Maggie
rubbed her hand smoothly along Angie’s lower back.
Kasey sitting directly opposite
Maggie mimicked her movements comforting Tina as she got it all out.
“Mom I am so angry at you right now
I don’t even know what to say. No wonder Dean Porter was so nice to me but do
you realize if she had been a lesser woman she could have kept me from
achieving my dream of going to school here and I would have never met Maggie.
She sits on the applicant committee Mom. It also explains Henry’s awful
behavior toward you. His abuse to you and his indifference to me for all those
years well it was wrong of him and it was wrong of you to allow him to treat us
that way when you knew the reason why he did. .
Do you have any ideal how all of
this has shaped and affected who I am today or was it that you were just so
bent on hurting her that you didn’t care?”
“No Angie it was never like that
please believe me. In the beginning Henry pretended to love us both very much
and at the time I thought he was what I needed.”
“Well at least now I understand why
you both reacted the way you did over the whole Sidney incident. And why it
didn’t shock you the first time you saw Maggie and I together. We talked about
it later and thought it kind of strange but Maggie said it was because you
loved me so much and you wanted me to be happy. But what about you Aunt Kasey
you exiled my Mom for a long time because she loved a woman is the rest of the
family going to do that to me too?”
