FEB FF CHALLENGE: A Time For Healing Chapter 3
THEN..
“What? Do you see an old woman in front of you? A woman who can’t hold down a job or keep her lover happy, so she has to start getting attention from cyber men?”
Bette asked cynically. Dana merely shook her head, continuing to stare at Bette’s face.
“No. I don’t think that at all. I think Alice and Tina both are lucky to have been able to experience you. And I think that I should be so lucky to be able to feel the same. And just so you are aware, I see an extremely sexy looking woman who will fight for her convictions and causes tooth and nail. I see a woman who is the sweetest and most caring mother in the world. I see a woman, who make me shiver and want to feel more then I have ever did before.”
Dana muttered softly, bringing her hand up and tracing over Bette’s face.
She dragged her thumb over Bette’s bottom lip, causing Bette’s heart rate to skyrocket. Bette quietly gasped at Dana’s touches. Dana pulled her hand back and stared deep into the chocolate orbs before her.
“Bette, I need you to make love to me.”
NOW…
Bette heard the words spoken by Dana and felt them resound in her body. She placed a brief kiss on the brunette’s lips and then moved to reach over to the bedside table and grabbed the remote for the shelf stereo.
She pushed the number 2 disc and hit random. Sarah McLachlan’s Mirrorball began to play. Bette settled back on the bed, beside Dana and began to stroke over Dana’s body whispering words of love and encouragement to the tennis player.
“I want you to just relax and let me take care of you. Just close your eyes and let me caress your body with my hands…” Bette’s hands began to move over Dana’s body, softly rubbing over her arms, her tighten stomach, and her athletic legs.
“I’ve always thought you had the best legs, I always found myself staring at them. I could never figure out if I wanted to feel them or if I just wanted them for myself…” Bette continued gently with her words of affection.

That was really wonderful… I’m completely won over. And I definitely think Bette was the only one who could have given Dana that kind of peace and understanding. She’s a bigger softie than she seems. Quite beautiful, thank you.
WOW!! Thank you for the tenderness…the love…the respect…the kindness…the gift of pleasure shared between two loving friends.
WOW! Beautifully written. The vulnerability & compassion that Bette exposes every now and then, is what makes her so beautiful. I miss Dana! PS.
This is amazing Pands, simply amazing, i’m awe struck, so beautifully written, so much love and compassion and so very real. What a talent you have, thank you for sharing.
You know- I never would have thought Bette and Dana as a pairing could be so great- I still don’t to be honest- which is a great compliment to you as a writer pands- you have written this beautifully and you deserve to win. You’ve got my vote- you always do! :) Thanks for this experience.
I did wonder what happened when B closed the blinds in this episode. Thanks for showing what could have happened in those very vulnerable and painful yet tender moments. Well, deserved praise.
I’m in awe…I was so wrapped up in reading this that I didn’t even realised that I was crying at the end. The combination of happiness and grief that was shown here can only be described by someone who is very sensitive and caring in my opinion. Pands you’re gifted.
Pandamel, This chapter is awesome. Full of tender and gentle love. There was a real sense of support and comfort from Bette that calmed and consoled Dana. This is a sad delight to read as you realize that this situation comes from despair and people searching for sloce from the harsh reality of disease and death. You just touched my heart and soul. Thank you, Your Loyal Fan.
BRAVO – extremely well written. You captured the very essence of how the ill person wants so much to “feel” something beyond the pain, the changes to their body (particularly from Cancer treatments), and the need to feel beatiful. Excellent! You are a wonderful writer who is highly expressive.
That was beautifully written. I could actually feel Bette’s compassion, Dana’s apprehension and the love given. Great job!!!
Amazing… this is really beautiful P… I continue to be amazed by how much this fits together! Bette really is what Dana needed at that time. Thanks, post soon!
This is wonderful and awesome, love it!!!!!
This is a wonderful and tender story – thanks for going in a different direction – very beautiful and I love your use of the songs ( which I usually don’t care for in other stories).
That was so beautiful Pandamel. The love of a friend, you captured that feeling and wrote it brilliantly. I am in awe.
