    “I know. She and I are fine. I promise.”

    “OK, then back to my master plan. I asked Alice to take you shopping because I needed you to be in the vicinity as I mentioned, but the ulterior motive was so that I wanted you to help her to pick out my gifts. You know whenever she shops on her own she always gets some bizarre stuff that you need instructions to figure out what it’s supposed to do right?” Tina is laughing at this. Bette was right. Almost every year Alice would get Bette some off the wall birthday and Christmas presents that she never could figure out what to do with. With Tina’s help today she did buy a couple of really nice gifts that she knew Bette would like.

    “Plus I knew you had some shopping to do also and you haven’t found the time. I thought today would give you the chance to do that. So were you able to get some of your shopping done?”

    “Yeah as a matter of fact I got most of it done. Thank you. Now what was your ulterior motive for getting Shane involved other than to lead me here?”

    “We’ve talked about spending more time with Shane. She’s really grateful to both of us for encouraging her photography. It was her idea to take you to dinner just as a way of thanking you for getting her involved with Michael at the center. I suggested that particular restaurant because I knew you would jump at the chance to have one of their decadent chocolate desserts. I’m sure you got take out dessert didn’t you?”

    “OK. That’s scary. Am I that predictable? I did get take out but I left it in the car. I’ll need to call Shane and tell her to put it in the fridge for me.”

      BAT2012, you for sure are a master in describing everything in detail and i fell in love with your Bette&Tina and the other people in this story.

    2. I’m with BIBI truly overwhelmed at the love and attention BETTE displays in delivering her acts of love.True friends ready to help with only a phone call or a spoken word without looking for anything in return just knowing they helped someone fulfill a wish.thanks pps.

      Mixed emotions regarding the finale tomorrow – looking forward to it but sad that’s it here.

    4. This was one of the best chapters to this story! In my opinion! Even though I love the whole story! I’m sad to see the end tomorrow:( I’m just looking forward to the next phrase of their lives. Off to eat me some strawberry shortcake that I made. PPS
