“Maybe I really don’t want to know.”

“I don’t want to tell you, so that when the time comes, I want you to be just as surprised as Tina. I don’t want her to think you were hiding something from her.”

“Yeah, you’re right. But why you,” I said, “I love you baby, but she hardly knows you.”

“I know and believe me I was just as shocked, but, I know what she’s going through.”

“I know too much already,” I said walking to Bex’s outward arms. I grabbed her and took her to her room. I started to rock Bex asleep when my phone rang, it was Shane.

“Hey baby, can you take Bex? Shane’s calling me.”

“Yeah, sure.”

“Hey Shaney, what’s up?”

“I was wondering what you were up to this weekend?”

“I actually have off this weekend. Lara and I have a bunch of wedding things to do before I get all crazy with work.”

“Alright awesome. Well, Kit is throwing us a bachelorette party at the Planet on Saturday night. It’s at nine; it’s going to be a drag show.”

“Sweet, I think Lara and I should be done by then. Lara loves drag shows.”

“Well great, I will let Kit know.”

“Hey real quick, what’s wrong with Tina?”

“Um, I don’t know, why,” I ask trying to sound like I have no clue what’s going on, which is true, to a certain extent.

“Well, I went over to ask her advice on my vows and she just said ‘vows pfft, who needs those anymore’ and she closed the door on me.”

“Fuck, are you serious?”

“Yeah, I’m kind of worried about her. I mean that is so out of character for her.”

“I don’t know what that’s about,” I said, shifting my gaze to Lara.

“Hey didn’t you have dinner with her?”

“No, we were going to but she didn’t feel well so I took her home.”

“Well, did she say anything or did anything happen?”

“No, she didn’t talk the whole car ride, but like I said, she felt sick.”

“I hope her and Bette are ok, I saw Bette as she came home. She was all smiles and I waved to her. She didn’t mention any conflict between her and Tina.”
