    From Afar

“Oh you should have seen her.” Shane pipes in.  “She had to resort to changing into Tina’s
sweats.  Rolling them up of the rest of
the night so not to be dragging them around everywhere.”

This got a laugh from all present at Alice‘s expense.  Pulling Alice
to the side to save her.  “Hey Al I
wanted to let you know we didn’t tell Peggy about your article.”

    Alice
looks at Bette stunned “What” she says loud enough for everyone to hear.  “Why not?
Porter I’ve never known you to leave a rock unturned didn’t you think it
    was worthy enough?” Alice
    says getting a little peeved.

    “Alice
no that’s not it at all.” Tina says quickly for the other side of the
room.  “Bette just decided that she
didn’t trust Peggy not to derail your article and after all your work we felt
that you need to get it published.”

This startled Alice who for a moment was speechless “Really?
Oh my God that’s better than having sex
    in the ‘Bed of Love’.

    Bette just looks at Alice
    weird “The WHAT?”

Chapter 158 – For the Record

Jack was hustling to get to the courthouse.  Of all days today he gets in a monster
traffic jam.  He had 5 minutes until the
time that he was suppose to meet Bette and Tina and he was still a good 15
minutes away.   Not happy but trying to
calm himself he once again tried Bette cell.
    It rolled straight into voicemail.
Leaving a voicemail and dialing Tina’s cell he was a little frustrated
when it too went into voicemail.

Both Tina and Bette were sitting in the long marble hallway
outside the courtroom of Judge Russell.
They both had gone through security with their cell phone turning
themselves off as they went through the metal detectors.

“It was nice being home last night with all the girls around
us.” Bette says smiling at the memory.

    “It was fun.  Samantha
seemed to fit in nicely with everyone.” Tina observed.

    “Yes she did.” Bette responds.

“Did you happen to notice how much attention Shane lavished
on her?” Tina asks wondering if Bette caught what she did.

“You know it wasn’t just the attention.  Did you notice the look on Shane’s face when
she didn’t realize any of us were watching her?” Bette says letting Tina know
    she caught it all.

    1. I have thoroughly enjoyed and savored every chapter, especially towards the end. I post regularly just to let you know how consistently outstanding, satisfying and deliciously well planned this story has been. I look forward to reading whatever comes next and please take a well deserved bow.

    2. As much as I dislike Helena, I’m glad you have Peggy caring enough to extract Helena from the mess. Of course, it could be to protect the Peabody Foundation, but at the same time, she is still her daughter and Peggy may consider it her fault that Helena is the way she is. Isn’t there a saying “do as I say, not as I do” but usually we mirror the doing and not doing the saying. Am I even making sense on this wonderful Saturday morning? Football coming up shortly. Horray! Thanks…can’t wait for Sunday….two post?!?

    3. Wow the excitment is buildind so fast im reading it like it was an NC17..lol (i read those real fast lol)I loved that poor Peggy had to travel commuter class…welcome to our world Peg! well that was great and your wrapping it up so beautifully…so the moment of truth is coming with the photos and whos in em!!!lol love it… god help me i almost feel sorry for Helena i think id take my chances with the DA as opposed to Peggy…

    4. Can’t wait to see what Peggy has to pull to get Helena out of the mess she’s created. A mother’s protective instinct is to of course to rescue the child. Will Peggy really extricate Helena from the DA’s vice or will Peggy serve Helena up to the DA in return for a lesser charge? Looking forward to tomorrow. Thanks, J.

    5. Love the way you’re folding up the story. Jwet, this has been so great, and with this story wrapping up, I do hope that you’re inspired soon to take us on another journey with Bette and Tina. For me personally, as long as there’s you, Skipton and Seahurst, tibetters the world over will thrive, despite what IC is rumoured to be doing to the characters.Thank you so much.

    6. Nah nah nah Helena yee ha. Now I have the fan fiction gun after shooting gracie from laurelite I am now aiming at your Helena. I know i say this all the time but fantastic chapter as always

    7. gerrie7 says it so well…..I know it has to come to an end but it makes me sad. I do look forward to new story from you though….I am sure it will be just as amazing, my friend.

    8. SHSL on the stand, would that be of a pedestal design? I thought so!! She’ll look soooo good – lets hope she says all she needs to say for her beloved to know how much she means to her! Oh and to whip the HELLamster’s fucking arse while she’s up there.

    9. i’ve just read 2 chaps, as always with a great pleasure. of course I feel sad that tomorrow this story ends (btw, great timing with s3 start). on the other hand I can hardly wait for Bette’s testimony. I can be wrong but think that’s how T finally will hear about the delivery room.that’s the moment I’ve been waiting for a very long time.

    10. They say the best things in life are free. While I don’t have a beef with Peggy, I’m glad you had events move too quickly for her to use her wealth to pull strings and save Helena’s skanky ass from the fire.

    11. This reads so realistically unlike other fanfic that can sometimes be cartoonish. The dialogue is spot on in tone and word for each character. It all speaks to your skill as a writer. gerrie7 is correct.

    12. You’ve done such a great job weaving this story together. I do hope you decide to start on a new one once this wraps up…thanks for writing.

    13. Exactly what I needed before heading to work today (I’ll probably be late now, but so worth it). I LOVE the heart you put into this story and wish it did not have to end!

    14. the dragon is going down and i’m happy because in your story she’s is a toal snake…but i’m sad the story is almost over…i loved every bit of it

    15. I will probably let slam dunked for saying this but, I almost feel sorry for Helena. She is such a tragic figure of a human being, one has to wonder just what kind of a mother Peggy was or is, that would affect her child is such a negative way. Whatever it was had to have been horrible to have a child want to bring you to your knees. Helena is much like a shoplifter, taking things she doesn’t need, or can’t afford, just to fulfill some deep emotional need.

    16. It has been absolutely delicious to read. And, it has been so well thought out from the very first word, that it doesn’t surprise me at all that after posting over 150 chapters, you would time it to end on the premiere of Season 3. Take a bow, pat yourself on the back, because you totally deserve it! BTW, I actually feel sorry for Peggy…she always just wants to do right, by her community as well as by her daughter when she put her in charge of the foundation.

    17. so you are saying all our worries are over Bette and Tina will triumph and there will be no more drama that causes trauma for these two?? OK I believe you because you have written such a dazzling story – what a journey. thanks.
