Chapter 24 – Bette makes Dinner

Bette looked around trying to make sure everything was clean, aired out and sparkled. She had arrived at Tinas house a little after noon and with Shane and Jennys help had cleaned the entire house from top to bottom. Bette had heard in Tinas voice this morning how hard it had been to leave Anna to go off to work and Bette just wanted Tina to come home relax in her clean house and eat a wonderful meal. No worries or at least she thought until the daycare wouldnt let her in the house. It took her going over to Shane and Jennys and soliciting their help before they could convince the sitter that Bette really was an upright citizen and not some baby snatcher and then when it was all said and done that she would indeed get paid for the entire day.

Since they were already there Jenny and Shane stayed and helped with the house cleaning, not that there was much to do, Tina kept a pretty clean house. Bette had brought in fresh cut flowers that she placed in a few vases around different spots in the house. With all the cleaning done early Bette had the rest of the afternoon free to play with Anna. This she relished with a passion. Bette just didnt know what it was about the little girl but Bette felt so comfortable in her company, not uneasy or insecure about what was needed. So far when Anna cried it was either she needed diaper duty, was hungry or had lost her toy. Bette seemed for today at least to be able to figure out all of these choices whenever Anna cried. But that rarely happened as she just seemed to be such a happy baby.

Looking at the clock, Bette realized that is was getting late and she should start dinner. Picking up Anna, Bette headed towards the kitchen and put Anna in her highchair. Giving her a few toys, Bette started pulling the vegetables and shrimp out of the refrigerator. Bette was going to attempt to make pasta primavera with shrimp. While cooking was never Bettes strong suit it was something she could do when pressed its just that Tina had always been so much better at it that Bette never wanted to mess with a good thing if it wasnt broke and Tinas cooking was definitely a good thing.

What a twist; Bette cooking and Tina coming home from work. The twlight zone it is!

I like the comfort you created for our heros!

Thanks….I’m so happy about possibly getting more chapters!

      Off to work I go.

    2. Perfect as always.
      Thank you…
P.S. Robbeedee Scotland is not always cold and rainy. Where i was today was absolutely
gorgeous, hopefully some of that weather will come your way.

    3. Loved this chapter. It would be nice for Bette to step back and allow Tina to take on the dominant role while she “takes care” of Tina. It would be a refreshing change for their relationship if they switch roles for a while on the show to gain better perspective on their relationship.

    4. LoL…I agree with slacker…no hot monkey love?! Haha, I’m just kidding. I’m having a kick arse day Jwet (I cut all my classes of course;P), hope your day is going well too. Beautiful chapter, totally loved it. Please update soon!!

    6. Perfect? Perfect? No…it’s ending before the hot monkey love. That’s the perfect part. Wait…I guess I’m getting ahead of myself.
      Very nicely done. Thanks.

    7. Jwet, you made me so happy when I saw your comment on my story. I am striving to make my stories as perfect as yours. You are truly one gifted writer. I enjoyed this chapter so much. You write from your heart and that is what is missing in some stories. Keep up the great work and I cannot wait for the next chapter.:-)

    8. I like the pace of this story…I’m glad that B is willing to go slow, besides, I don’t want this story to end;)! You’re writing is lovely…Thanks.

    9. “a little mad that her body was letting her down, as the evening had been perfect.” Ok…what does that mean?? Still loving each and every one of your chapters. Thank you.

    10. LOL @ Seahurst first.
      Jwet,
No sure what other plaudits I can extol on you. A truly wonderful, heartfelt story that just leaves me in awe of your talent. My highlight of the day is seeing another chapter posted. I know that each one gives such sweet satisfaction to the reader. An uplifting saga.
      Ready for your next chapter.
Agree with everyone that Tina and Bette need to reconnect soon as all the pieces are falling into place though I am sure you will have a few surprises for us all.
      An admiring fan.

PS – Was visiting my folks in a cold and rainy Scotland so No on all counts.
