    Chapter 43 – Damage Control

    I just accepted a job with the MYV Foundation yesterday and I havent even started my first day yet. So imagine my surprise when my new boss to be calls me this morning wondering if I can help with damage control. It seems one of my best friends has written a reprehensible article full of sensational innuendo meant to be mean and vicious. Tina pauses here to gauge Alices response. Seeing that Alice was still in the shock and stunned mode Tina continued Well knowing my good friend as well as I do I defended her to my new boss. Saying that there is no way that my friend Alice Pieszecki would ever write anything that was just so wrong. Well Alice what happened to you because this trash is just that WRONG.

    Tina having fired her assault now just waited for Alice to answer her. Tinas stance was squared and her hands were on her hips and chest out as she looked larger than her normal appearance waiting for Alice. Bette could almost imagine her tapping her foot as if the clock was ticking for the response. The longer Alice failed to find her voice the more imposing Tinas appearance became. Finally when it was clear that there was no way out for Alice she finally verbalized what by now was obvious to all.

    Ah .. Ah..I dont know. came the lame response from Alice. Alice now just bowed her head down as she couldnt defend the un-defendable.

    Seeing that there was no more flesh to pound Tina changed her tactics as she wanted to at least leave Alice with a little honor. OK I dont understand but I accept it. So Alice when will you be available today to go through with me all the grant award winners and their stories for the article you are going to write about all the good that is going to be put forth by this AMAZING new foundation?

    What?? Alice now perked up. What article? I dont know if my editor will even go for it. I mean we will have to find out the level of interest and then ..

    3. Like this story. Amazon I’m with you the Reverend did come off as a “preachy” son of a *itch. But that could be part of the story line something to be explored later as Bette’s involvement in the foundation plays out. Remember Tina is pretty new to the Foundation and is not that familiar with the players involve in creating it. — Jwet is a great writer and I’m sure she won’t leave any stones left unturned.

    4. “You want to date me?” Bette asks and then immediately answers the question. “Yes let’s date!” Whoopeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

      Question: Will Tina ask Bette to be on the Board for MYV Foundation? That will be so cool!

One thing though I’ll have to go back and find the chapter but, the reverend didn’t seem like a “nice guy” or have a “live and let live philosophy” I remember him being a homophobic asshole. I shall go check. Being a recovering catholic and going to catholic school for a VERY long time the whole ” love the sinner hate the sin” mentality tends piss me off and cloud my vision a bit.

      Loving the story, can’t wait for more.
