    Chapter 43 – Damage Control

    Bette have I told you just how beautiful you are today. Tina says as Bette gets to the table.

    With that comment Bette is totally pulled off center and now is nervous all over again. Ah no I dont really think we have had any time this morningI mean thanks you look great also. Bette says thinking immediately how bad that sounded.

    Bette I am so sorry I really didnt want this to go like it has today. I feel that things are a little out of control but I still think its important that you and I talk. Is that OK with you? Tina asks looking up to Bette as she hasnt sat down yet.

    I know this is a little crazy today and I know you need to go but yes lets talk. Bette says as she sits down. Looking back at Tina with a questioning look.

    OK well I had this whole speech sort of planned but to be honest it seems to have left me so Im going to just get to it. We have been dancing around a lot of uncomfortable moments lately and I just want to work through them. I know for my part that I want you in my life. I mean more than just as Annas babysitter. Im not sure about all of it but that much I know. I meant dont get me wrong I still get angry as ***** when I think about our past and part of me is really scared to trust you again. But right now today I know that I want to try. What I dont know is what you want or even if this is something that you have been thinking about.

    Tina is saying all this to Bette in such a direct manor that Bette is a little dizzy by it all. Yes Tina Yes. was all that came to her mind.

    Tina seeing that Bette is a little overwhelmed begins to get angry at the world. Im so sorry Bette, I just cant believe of all days to try to have this conversation with you that today all ***** breaks loose for me. I can see that you seemed a little weighed down by what Im saying. I was thinking that maybe we could date. But I am opened to any idea you may have. I know time is short today but would you think about it and maybe we could talk later. Tina is trying to make the best of this situation.

    You want to date me? Bette asks and then immediately answers the question. Yes lets date!

    3. Like this story. Amazon I’m with you the Reverend did come off as a “preachy” son of a *itch. But that could be part of the story line something to be explored later as Bette’s involvement in the foundation plays out. Remember Tina is pretty new to the Foundation and is not that familiar with the players involve in creating it. — Jwet is a great writer and I’m sure she won’t leave any stones left unturned.

One thing though I’ll have to go back and find the chapter but, the reverend didn’t seem like a “nice guy” or have a “live and let live philosophy” I remember him being a homophobic asshole. I shall go check. Being a recovering catholic and going to catholic school for a VERY long time the whole ” love the sinner hate the sin” mentality tends piss me off and cloud my vision a bit.

      Loving the story, can’t wait for more.
