    Chapter 1

    ***Bette***

    The girls stayed a while with Angelica and me and were just goo goo gaa gaa over her. Weve never had a baby in the family so this is the highlight of all our lives. They left about an hour after, giving me time to be alone with Angelica. I am sitting here looking at our beautiful daughter. Tina and I never really discussed baby names, so when she said that she decided on Angelica it took me by surprise. But now that I have time to think about where my life is going, what has happened between us, and her reasoning behind the name, Its perfect. Angelica, angelic. A guardian spirit or guiding influence, a kind and lovable person, one who manifests goodness, purity, and selflessness. You are truly a blessing. You came to us at a time when everything was falling apart for us. After we lost your brother we just drifted apart. And then my father got ill and he died soon after. Now I dont have a job. But none of that matters anymore. I know we will make it. We have some healing to do but I know things will be better. I wish your mother could have seen you and held you before they took her to ICU. You have her eyes you know. As I watched Angelica my thoughts were interrupted by a faint knock on the door.

    Hi. Sasha. I smiled at the nurse.

    Hey, how is she? I have to take her for her for her feeding.

    She fell asleep a few moments ago.

    I will take her to the nursery, you can visit her later on.

    Ok. Um how is Tina, I mean Ms Kennard?

    She is still out of it. I will let you know if there is any change.

    I decided to take this time to shower and change. I have been in these clothes since we came last night. As I was getting out of the bathroom, luckily I had on my robe, I was greeted by Sasha. She is Angelicas nurse, and she promised to keep me informed about Tina.

    I didnt mean to startle you, but Tinas awake. Well she is in and out but she asked for you. I just thought Id let you know.
