Gods Gift- Pt 2
When I got back, I headed up to ICU, the nurse there told me that they took her down to her room. I went to the nursery to check on Angelica but she too was not there. When I got Tinas room and I opened the door, I was greeted with the beautiful image of Tina breastfeeding Angelica. Hey you. I walked over and sat on the bed with her.
Hey. She smiled and puckered her lips for me to kiss her. I obliged. Shes asleep.
When did they bring you down? Im sorry I wasnt here when they did.
Aww, its ok. Angelica kept me company. Where did you go anyway? Have you eaten?
Yeah. I grabbed something from the caf. And then I had some stuff I neglected to do so I decided to do that.
We looked at Angelica for a while as she slept. Shes beautiful isnt she?
Yes she is. Oh I spoke with Kit, and Shane called me. They will come by in the morning. I wasnt sure what time they would have brought you down so I told them tomorrow would be better. Tina groaned a little. You ok?
Can you take her? My stomach hurts a little.
I took Angelica. Do you want me to get a nurse?
No no. Its ok. Ill be fine. She was resting on the cut. Im fine now.
***Tina***
I watched as Bette held Angelica. She seems so proud and so happy. Oblivious to anything else around her. Its like she is a whole different person. Before, before the first pregnancy, I must admit that our reasons for starting a family, or the main reason was a way to keep us together. Bette and I always wanted children, but the timing was always off. And then one day we decided that we would no matter what obstacle came our way. When I got pregnant the second time I wanted it to be perfect. I wanted to wait till the first trimester. There is an old wives tale about jinxing a pregnancy by telling everyone before the first trimester. I had one more month the go. One more month. And then. But thats behind us now. Bette is really happy and I know now that it was the right time. We I mean I didnt get pregnant to keep us together. We were already apart so to speak. And even though Bette had no idea about the pregnancy she still wanted me back. She even started to see Dr Foxworthy on her own. And to think she hated going with me. Somehow it brought us back together. In all honesty I couldnt see myself raising Angelica with anyone other than Bette.
Baby?
Mmmm?
Have you decided yet about what youre going to do?
Do about what?
Work? What are you going to do?
Oh Well Actually I havent really thought about that.
Bette?
I mean, I know I have to do something. But I was thinking maybe staying home with Angelica.
You wouldnt last a month at home.
No no I think I can. And its something I want to do. I mean you would eventually have to start back at the centre. So instead of getting a nanny, I could take care of Angelica for a few months. I smiled, more like chuckled at what she said. Whats so funny?
Nothing.
You dont think I could do it?
Nooo I never said that.
But youre thinking it?
Bette, I just dont want you to regret anything later on.

Don’t sell Bette short, she has always wanted a family, I think it would be a good idea for Bette to have a change of career, maybe even a artist, or photographer, or even a writer, this way she would be able to choose her own hours. This will then prove to Tina how much Bette loves her.
Interesting to see how they figure all of this out as they move forward. Nicely done.
Awwww Tina breastfeeding Angelica. Bonding. Something we won’t get to share on the real show. This is so sweet.
i’m sure bette could handle taking care of the baby…but i think bette needs to be the one working…she will land on her feet and get a better job making the cac regret what they did
Loving this story.

I think Bette staying at home with the bay would give her a total new out look on life. I reckon it would be great!

Cute, very cute. Beautifully written. Thank you
Bette staying at home with the baby…now this is a site for our eyes. Can she handle that. Post soon
Great post. Interesting idea about making Bette a stay-at-home mom but I’m with Amanda here — you can make changes to a person’s persona by adjusting their perspective but the core essence of who they are never really changes. Alpha Bette is not entirely gone, simply her priorities and obligations have been adjusted. I don’t think Bette would be entirely fulfilled as a housewife. Besides Tina just seems as the perfect nurturer. Its her nature and Bette’s to be the provider.
