When she had secured the house she invited Bette over in her excitement. She had thought that Bette would be pleased that they were practically neighbors. Bette seemed anything but pleased that day.
“What do you think?” Tina asked as she gave Bette a tour of the two-bedroom house. It was small but cozy and she had plans to make it home for Angelica and herself.
“It’s ok.” Bette answered cautiously. “I like the energy of the place.”
“Great.” Tina beamed. “I hoped that you would like it.”
“What’s this about, Tina? Is this a location shoot for WeHo?”
“No, it’s my new home.”
‘You have a home.” Bette stated flatly. “Your home is five blocks away.”
“I had a home, five blocks from here; I thought it would be good for Angie and us if we lived closer together.”
“Living together would be closer still. Why don’t you just come home Tina?” Bette fixed her with a look.
“Bette we are doing well right now, there is nothing to be gained by trying that again.” Tina turned to avoid the reaction to her answer.
“Neither of us is dating, Tina. It’s been four months since either of us has been on a date.” Bette thought that was significant.
“Don’t you think it’s time?” Tina heard the sharp intake of breath that the brunette took yet she continued with her thought. “I think we have established a routine and a new level of trust that we can begin to move forward with our lives, don’t you?”
Bette stared at her for a minute and bit back the comment that she was ready to make. “Yeah, Tina, we have come a long way. I had hoped that we had come far enough for you to think about coming home, to me.”
Tina’s breath caught. She had seen it coming. As much as a part of her wanted to go back to where they had been and to be a family in the fullest sense of the word she just couldn’t get there. She had tried to ignore the subtle hints that Bette threw at her from time to time. This declaration demanded a response. Hurting Bette, as she knew she would was not easy.

Aw man you stopped there? This is good. Why is Tina fighting it? And when Bette does get the hint and try to move on she will lose her mind with jealousy…please post soon.

Dang it, when are they both going to realize that there is nobody out there that can love her the way that they both do. Bette definitely would take Tina back in a heart beat. I get the impression that Tina is trying to make sure that she is really ready to get back with Bette if that is the road that she takes (at least I hope so).

Maybe Tina will realize they belong back together, and make a statement at the hearing. You know if things get tough. They belong together we know that, how come no one else sees that. IC we mean you.
Great post and excellent flow. I agree in the quest for answers…LOL. Tina is teasing. Bette is losing it slowly and well, Angie is cute. LOL. I’d love to see more of this story. PPS ;)
