    It may be over… (J.Blunt Goodbye My Lover)

     

                “Yes.”  Tina replied without hesitation.  “I know I’ve been an ass lately, I’m working on redemption.”

     

                Alice laughed; Shane smiled as she saw Bette move forward nonchalantly.  When Shane met Bette’s eyes the relief was clear.  Bette smiled weakly in return.

     

                “Baby Sis?”  They heard Kit before she emerged through the patio door.  “Hey everybody” Kit was near to bursting with her pregnancy.  She greeted the crew.  “How come no one told me there was a party going on?”  Bette moved to Kit and kissed her on the cheek.  “Come sit over here.”  Bette directed guiding Kit into a chair to her left. 

     

                “No party, Kit” Tina answered. “These folks just showed up.” 

               

                Bette turned with surprise as Tina answered as if for the both of them. 

     

                “Auntie Kit.”  Angelica grinned and toddled over to Kit.  Bette picked her up and placed her in Kit’s lap. “Baby?”  Angelica patted Kit’s stomach. Angelica and Kit had a private conversation while everyone else looked on.  Angus came loping into the backyard, his eyes lighting up as he saw Kit and Angelica.  He was a poster for the proud Papa. “Hey Jelly.”  He planted a kiss on Kit’s lips then rested his hand on her shoulder.  “Jelly looks like it’s time for her nap.  Is it napping time?”

     

                “Story.”  Angelica cried.

     

                “Ok, story first.”  Angelica slid off Kit’s lap and reached for Angus’ hand as they headed off to the bedroom for story and naptime.

     

                “She is such an easy child.”  Bette commented as she watched them head into the house.  

     

                “I wonder where she got that from.”  Kit looked at Bette and Tina, and then rolled her eyes.

     

                Alice and Shane burst out laughing, while Bette and Tina glared at her.

     

                “So what’s the game plan for tomorrow?”  Kit came right to the point. 

     

                “Show up and be yourselves.”  Bette answered.  “Who they will be looking at most closely is me.  I am now employed as the Dean of a fairly prestigious Art College and I have the support of the birth mother and the sperm donor, so that should be enough.”

    1. Aw man you stopped there? This is good. Why is Tina fighting it? And when Bette does get the hint and try to move on she will lose her mind with jealousy…please post soon.

    3. Dang it, when are they both going to realize that there is nobody out there that can love her the way that they both do. Bette definitely would take Tina back in a heart beat. I get the impression that Tina is trying to make sure that she is really ready to get back with Bette if that is the road that she takes (at least I hope so).

    7. “Once Angelica discovered French fries through Alice she refused to eat any other food unless she also got fries… ” LOL, that was a very cute touch.

    10. Maybe Tina will realize they belong back together, and make a statement at the hearing. You know if things get tough. They belong together we know that, how come no one else sees that. IC we mean you.

    11. Great post and excellent flow. I agree in the quest for answers…LOL. Tina is teasing. Bette is losing it slowly and well, Angie is cute. LOL. I’d love to see more of this story. PPS ;)
