“Yeah, it’s a big day and the last thing I wanted to worry about was traffic.”
“So how long have you been here?”
“Since Court opened at nine.”
“Let me rephrase, what time did you get here?”
“Eight forty five.” Bette answered sheepishly.
“It’s going to be okay Bette. You will officially be recognized as her other parent today.”
“You think so?” Bette answered nervously, needing reassurance.
“Yeah, I do. Joyce is many things fortunately a good attorney is one of them. Even if the worst happened, which I’m sure it won’t, you can count on me. It will change nothing between you and Angelica.” Tina vowed.
Bette searched the eyes of the woman who was once her lover and her world. She nodded to acknowledge Tina’s words.
They moved into the nursery and Angelica began to play with the toys. Bette and Tina watched her in silence for some time. Tina became aware that Bette was glancing at her from time to time but did not speak. Tina waited patiently knowing that the brunette would speak when she was ready. Several more minutes passed before she heard the final sigh and Bette spoke.
“Tina?”
“Um..” She responded nonchalantly to encourage Bette.
“I was thinking earlier that this is such a sad place.”
“What is?”
“This is a place, where people who once presumably cared for one another enough to create a child, fight over that child.”
“Yeah, it is sad now that you mention it. It can be a happy place too though.” She wondered at Bette’s suppressed mood and wanted to lift it. “We are here for a happy reason, to make official a bond that can finally be recognized.”
“I can’t believe how close we came to battling over Angelica like a piece of property.” Bette shuddered.
“We came to our senses Bette.” Tina replied quietly. She pain that flooded her at the thought of Angelica being caught in a bitter custody battle was second only to the pain of the idea that either one of them would be lost to their precious girl. She remembered the shock she felt when she learned that Bette had sued for sole custody and the hours that she had spent wondering when Bette took off with Angelica if she would ever see their child again.

I can’t believe you made me cry. That was so sweet. Come on can’t we find a way to get mama B and mama T back together.
I agree with Coop…thank you for the happy ending to the custody situation…but we need happiness with Bette & Tina.
Awwwww, so sweet! I feel all warm and fuzzy inside :D Loved the chap. It would make me even more happy if B & T got back together. Which i’m guessing they want to, if the glances and everything else are anything to go by. PPS

Tears of joy welled in my eyes. Angelica calling for her mamma and then her mommy was heart warming. The hug that Tina gave Bette reminded me of the hug in season 3. The hope that you saw in both women. Can I dare hope that there is that same feeling in today’s Bette and Tina’s hug?
