“Bette? Your food is here.” Tina reminded.
“Oh sorry, I was ummm debating
over some issues I need to take care of at work.”
Tina did not believe the
doleful look in Bette’s eyes had anything to do with business, but she would
not press her on the matter, “In case you have an input, we are now discussing
section 3 of the proposal.”
“Right, section 3.” And with
that, Bette shoved her reminiscing to the back of her mind then began to talk
shop with the two women.
Lunch ended not too soon,
Tina was glad to finally return back to her cubicle. The whole lunch ordeal was stressful. Bette was constantly trying to shine,
out-show her intelligence and wit, like she was trying to please someone sure,
you have to try to please the client but the topics at hand had nothing to do
with business. They were irrelevant
topics that Bette seemed so fond of.
Tina could not stand that but more so, she could not stand herself. ‘Why do I have to counter every single one of
Bette’s remarks?’, ‘Why do I even care if she likes meat so much?” Interacting with Bette seemed to get more and
more complicated by the minute.
A week later.
“Tina, I would like the
Kodak project summary on my desk Friday morning, I have a meeting with them and
I want to go over the details again.”
“Bette, you know I took
Thursday off because Dana asked me to go watch her play in the prelims.”
“I’m sorry Tina, I need it
and it would be best if you came to work on Thursday.”
“Miss Porter, you are being
unreasonable here, I thought your meeting was not until Tuesday, which gives me
plenty of time to submit it on Monday morning like we planned in the first
place.”
Bette was frustrated. Tina and Dana were so chummy lately, hanging
out over the weekend, going to tennis games, etc, etc. She just couldn’t help herself if she
couldn’t control Tina’s personal life, the only thing she could do was give her
orders at work.
Bette thought better of it,
pushing her might not be the best way. Taking
a deep breath, “You know what, you are right go, go have fun at the game, it
won’t kill me to look at the report on Monday.”

Girl, great chapter.. Repeat after me, *Season 3 is a bad nightmare, Season 3 is a bad nightmare* don’t let it stop your writing or change your story, . I love the play between B&T. The only way we seem to have them happy is here. And god forbid if everyone stops writing happy ones, I will have to try writing again.. Keep up the great work!!

JFreeze, I do read the happy fanfic chapters sparingly so that I can make it through the week after the dismal episodes on Sundays. I am praying that Tina will rediscover a little thing called compassion and apply it to Bette. Soooooo, please keep up your writing. This story is just what us disgruntled TiBetters need.
I’m normally not a fan of fighting (though you wouldn’t know it from my comments on other stories), but just once I want to see Bette kick someone’s ass on the show like she did here. Alice is right. Bette is being an asshole because she actually likes Tina, even if Bette doesn’t realize it yet. I’m curious to see if Bette will stay the night next to Tina and if Tina will freak out in the morning. Then they can start to fall in love and have hot office sex.
