    She touched the screen a couple of time and listened for the dial tone. The soft voice which answered made her close her eyes. She loved her voice. Gentle, patient, poised lightly touched by the slow drawl of a southern accent and just that side of permanently sultry especially if Bette was on the line.

    “Can I come over?” She breathed into the mouthpiece.

    The light giggle at the other end acquiesced admitting to have been waiting.

    She knew her well, too well, Bette thought as she got up, not giving the crumpled sheets on the floor a second look but heading to the bathroom for a cool shower.

    Soon, she was stepping out of her apartment, the taxi she had ordered waiting already by the building lobby entrance. The air outside was even warmer if it were possible. It weighed heavily on her shoulder as she covered the few metres to the car.

    She gasped as she took a seat in the back of the cab, a combination of the refreshing welcome of the cabin’s AC and the torturous seam of her flattering boyfriend jeans against her still sensitive core.

    She hissed wantonly, closing her eyes before giving the address to the cabbie who looked at her a little bewildered.

    She silenced any unnecessary and unwelcomed questions when she handed the man a hefty tip to get her to her destination fast.

    Bette walked the familiar corridor with nervous trepidation. She had been there countless times before but yet her heart thudded against her ribcage as if it were the first such occurrence. The knock on the door was equally timid and Bette had to steady herself to knock a second time this time more assertively.

    The door opened on a smiling blonde.

    Bette’s teeth clenched as the door revealed the object of her affection clad only in an oversized shirt, blonde hair loose and cascading over narrow shoulders. She was barefoot. She reached out a hand to steady herself against the door frame. She was used to seeing Tina looking stunning but the woman was truly in a league of her own standing there the epitome of flawless perfection.

    She swallowed thickly letting the door fall closed behind her as she pushed into the apartment. She ambled towards Tina with slow, deliberate steps, her attention firmly on what she could see of the blonde’s body and especially what was unseen to the eye but firmly and vividly etched into Bette’s mind.
