    Tina’s back… James is a little confused… And Bette, well let’s just say Bette is a mess!

     

    ‘You’re not the only who made mistakes Bette.  We’ve talked about this.  You’ve faced a lot of your problems and I really believe therapy is helping you with them.’

     

    ‘You’re in therapy too and we’re going to go together.’

     

    ‘But I’m not dealing with everything Bette.  Look at the other night and how I went off when you asked me a simple question.  There’s nothing simple about the way I reacted.  I’m not dealing with my anger Bette.’

     

    ‘No one can do that for you Tina.  You’re going to have to do that for yourself, but I’ll be there for you, just like you’ve been there for me, if you’ll let me.’

     

    ‘Did you ever consider you might not want me back when this is all said and done?’

     

    ‘No.’

     

    ‘How can you be so sure Bette?  Would you have ever thought I would react the way I did that night?’

     

    ‘No, but I wasn’t exactly thinking clearly.’

     

    ‘And now, not knowing what else might come out of all this, you’re still convinced we should be together?’

     

    ‘What am I suppose to do Tina?  Give up on us because you lashed out once in seven years after I cheated on you?  I’m trying to deal with the things that drove me to be careless enough to be unfaithful can’t you at least try to deal with the anger?  Don’t you think we’re worth the effort?’

     

    ‘I guess I’m afraid I’ll find out I’m not who I always thought I was.’

     

    ‘Join the club.’

     

    ‘I never thought I was capable of treating you that way.’

     

    ‘And I never thought I’d be unfaithful, but I was.  Look, we’re just going around in circles, I think we should call it a night.  Maybe Foxworthy can get us out of this never-ending cycle of blame and absolution.  We’re both sorry for what we did and forgive each other yet here we are, nothing in our way but each other.  We’re both tired; let’s just get some rest.  I’ll take you back to Alice‘s if you want, but why don’t you just stay here.  I’ll sleep on the couch.  Just let me get a blanket and a pillow.’

    1. I am just getting caught up with this story its so good. I can understand Tina’s struggle and I know she will overcome the anger when she realizes her love outweighs the anger. GREAT story

    3. Very good, you had me hoping all the way, that Tina would budge just a little. Bette is on her way and has accepted her mistakes and is taking on the responsibility to recetify them. I will be waiting for the next chapter. I hope that it won;t be too long. Thanks

    6. One says that they are sorry, making attempts to change, showing remores, showing how much love they have for the one they love. Is all one needs to show. Tina wow she has to deal with that angier or she will lose out. Catch the next chapter.

    7. I agree with abouttime. Bette has apologized enough and I’m sure it was difficult for her to just walk out but it had to be done. No more dancing around the guilt and the same issues. Its time to move forward and begin the healing process. Excellent chapter, asalways!

    9. Bette was ready to face some of her issues while Tina isn’t. I do agree that in order for it to work, both parties have to be ready. Time helps a lot though in that duration, it’ll be like hell.

    10. I found this a very emotionally powerful chapter and echo everyone’s comments regarding Bette’s willingness and Tina’s cowardice.
