I Want to Come Over, Post 8
As the lines of the song filtered through Tina’s mind she knew that Kay was right. She needed to have a talk with the brunette. It was time to put her feelings on the table openly and honestly. What had started out as fun had turned painful in a quick New York minute. She did not want to hurt Bette any more than she already had and she wanted to close the distance between them as quickly as possible.

Rosanna made her way to Kay’s studio the following Monday. She watched her from the doorsill as she was engaged with a young girl who looked to be about eight years old as she painted a picture. Kay was thoughtful and absorbed in the picture being created so she was unaware of the scrutiny she was under by one of her oldest and closest friends.
Rosanna could not believe the look of love and longing that Kay had fixed her with the night of Tina’s ambush which is how she thought of it in her mind. She could understand how hard it must be for Tina to see Bette with another. It caused her own chest to constrict when she thought of ever giving the honey colored beauty up. She was sweeter than any woman she had ever known. Her body was perfection. She became wet just thinking about her silken skin or the sweetness of her nectar on her tongue.
Dragging her thoughts back to the woman she watched from the door she looked at her friend in a new way. Kay laughed with the girl and absently tousled her hair. Glancing up she spied Rosanna watching her from the doorway. A deep blush appeared across her face and neck.
Rosanna grinned at her discomfort, earning a scowl from Kay in return. As soon as Kay could speak again she excused herself from her young patient. She gave the girl some direction and crossed the room so she could speak with Rosanna.
“What are you doing here?”
“Thanks, it’s nice to see you too, Kay.” Rosanna responded graciously.
“Hi Ro, it’s good to see you.” Kay responded recovering her equilibrium and her manners at the same time. It always surprised her how genteel Rosanna was and it made people including herself respond in kind. Kay could go off like the hot tempered Irish American woman that she was but Rosanna always remained civil even in anger. Kay and the crew that they hung out with in college would tease Rosanna that she even cursed properly. When Rosanna was really angry and used the F word she pronounced the whole thing. ‘I am so fucking pissed’ she declared the day that Helena Peabody had made her angry. The entire assembly had been silenced and everyone looked at one another. “Fucking” Kay had challenged her. You are “fucking” pissed. Damn Ro, you don’t even curse like a normal person. It’s ‘fuckin” not ‘fucking’, what planet are you from?”
Rosanna had been confused by the laughter and endless teasing that she got from the crew still when she used the ‘F’ word. Even to this day she often noticed a strange look cross the faces of those present when she was angry enough to use it.
“Would you have lunch with me?” Rosanna asked.
“Sure meet me in front of the building in ten minutes.” Kay replied glancing at her watch. It felt like old times where Ro would drop by and they would steal away just to spend time together. It had been quite awhile since they had done this and it felt good.
Kay stepped out into the California sunshine and remembered why she had left her native New York. Rosanna was waiting in her new Jag with the top down sunglasses hiding her blue eyes. God she was beautiful she thought slipping into the leather seat which seemed to hold her like a lover. She reached to fasten her seat belt and felt Rosanna’s gaze even though she could not see it and her heart rate speeded up.
“How much time to we have?” Rosanna asked casually.
“As much as you want I don’t have to go back to the office today except to get my car.”
“Great. We haven’t been to The Beach House in ages.”
The drive was peaceful and Kay slipped on her own sunglasses which gave her a sense of privacy as she listened to the music which poured out to the Jag’s excellent sound system. Occasionally she stole a glance at Rosanna who glanced back but their mutual armored eyes betrayed nothing else. Soon they were pulling into the restaurant parking lot and they both knew the flimsy defense would not hold. It was turkey talking time.

Come on, that all? What superdaddy said Hurry up and post!!!
I wonder how Ro is going to let Kay down… and she will be, right? I mean, I wouldn’t like Ro to give anyone any “false” hope or anything… (or would I?) And besides, Theresa’s still in town. If she sees Kay’s got a chance, she’ll be back up in the mix faster than a speeding bullet, doing what she’s gotta do as well. Can’t wait for the next chapter, thanks for the update, kelika.
HEY…don’t stop there?! I was mid-drool! XD….pps! I’m loving the flow and the imagery is excellent. That sublime soup you have cooking is quite tasty as well. More, I say, more! 8)
Ro loves Bette but is she in love with her. We all know that Kay love Ro.body and soul and is love with her. Is Ro the one that takes Tina hopes and dreams away or will Kay take Ro to unknown place that she never dreamed about. thanks
What a TEASE. Where is the rest of the chapter? Ro says that deep down she still have feelings for Theresa, Kay is in love with Ro, Theresa wants Ro back, Bette says she loves Ro, but deep down she still loves Tina and Tina is still in love with Bette. I quess my question is, besides loving someone, who is actually “In Love” with whom? PPs :o)
