I WANT YOU BACK Part 19

“Kayleigh knew you were there? Tina said shocked

“Yes Christina…it was the only time that girl left your side..and before you ask I made her promise not to tell you I was there..I also kept in touch with her parents afterwards in regards to your welfare throughout the whole time you lived there”

“You did? So Kayleigh and her folks knew you had cancer and didn’t tell me?!!”” The blonde said stunned

“No honey…the Scott’s didn’t know!.. Most of our discussions took place over the phone, or with your father meeting Mr Scott every Saturday at the bar when they went for a few ales. None of the neighbours know about my illness.. only a few relatives and close friends”

Tina held her head in her hands…she was frantically trying to process all that she had been told…her mother then spoke again

“I really believed I would beat this disease!, I swore to myself I would contact you as soon as I went into remission…But that never happened, I just got weaker-Then when I was told I had only 2 weeks to live..I knew I had to bite the bullet so to speak, I had to contact you…it’s selfish of me dropping this news on you like this..but I had to have the chance to tell you I love you..,and that I’m so sorry for the pain I caused you…I wish I had done this years ago! I am a stubborn stupid women!…I wish I had more time to make it up to you..I’m not ready to die yet!”

Tina sobbed uncontrollably, her heart was breaking…She could hardly get her words out

“Oh Mom!. Come here” the blonde cuddled her mother “We’ll get through this..and we’ll try to make whatever time you have left as special as possible! We’ll do our best to pack the missing years into whatever time you have left”

“Thank you Christina…for being so understanding…I really don’t deserve you”

“You’re my mother and I love you..I wont lie to you…I cant forget the past…but I can learn to forgive..Life is too short and precious to hold grudges with someone you love”

“I’ll second that Christina!” Kennard senior said sincerely

“But mother my only request is that you treat my daughter and partner with dignity and respect, otherwise I’ll be out of here quicker than you can blink”

    Comments

    1. I am glad that Tina had that heart to heart talk with her mother. Even though they don’t share much time together the past can be placed on the back burner and they can move forward.

    2. Hope the apology is truly sincere and heartfelt because I don’t believe her for one moment. She has been so very vitrolic in her comments against Tina dn Bette and I don’t for one minute believe she has changed that much. For her sake, I hope she has. I just don’t want her to lull everyone into believing she has changed and then wham do something to hurt them again. I wouldn’t put it past her to ask Bette to leave Tina as a dying wish. Leopards don’t change their spots at all. It was a well written chapter. PPS

    3. Such a well written chapter – I too wish that Chrissy had not waited until she was on death’s doorstep to make amends to her daughter, Bette, and her granddaughter. I think Chrissy must be every bit as stubborn as Bette! Losing her mother so soon after coming together again will be extremely difficult for Tina. I look forward to finding out where you take the story…
