    ”Because it’s very dangerous not only for me, but for the people around too. If I quit, I would need to leave the country and thus jeopardize everyone that means anything to me.” Putting her head into her hands, Tina heaved a sharp sigh. ”What if I said that I would have left with you?”

    Putting her head into her hands, Tina heaved a sharp sigh. ”What if I said that I would have left with you?”

    A deep frown showed across Bette’s features. ”You can’t want that, Tina.”

    ”You don’t tell me what I can want and what I can’t!”

    The brunette closed her eyes helplessly.

    ”What are the possible outcomes of quitting, but not leaving the country?”

    ”There can only be two possible outcomes and it’s either a jail time or getting killed.”

    ”And the consequences of not quitting?” Tina asked, dreading to hear the answer.

    Bette took a long breath before giving away the truth. ”The same, eventually.”

    ”You’re kidding…” A shaky whisper came out of the blonde’s mouth.

    Having turned to look at her girlfriend, Bette gained a strong desire to be swallowed up by earth. The exceptionally sorrowful hazel eyes glistened with bitter tears and lost hope. Bette couldn’t even imagine how devastatingly her words must have sounded to Tina.

    Now the brunette was one hundred percent sure that this was the end of them. She waited on and on for Tina to get up from the sand and disappear out of her life. But the blonde continued to sit there and Bette couldn’t understand why wasn’t she running for dear life away from her.

    ”How in the world have you ended up there, Bette… You can’t be one of them, you are not like that, all this is not in your nature…unless you have two opposite personalities? Tell me how could that happen? Were you forced into it?”

    ”I had to pay one debt.”

    ”What kind of debt?”

    ”Remember I told you how I got expelled from college? And when I crashed the car of my college mate? That car was very expensive and I had to pay him back.”

    ”Couldn’t you come up with any other ways of earning money? Safer ways?”

    ”No.”

    ”Why?”

    ”Because that college mate is now my boss. Working for him had been the core of the payout.”

    ”But you must have paid him back already, it’s been a long time…?”

    2. I am desperatly holding hope and trust in the title of your story!

      This is a mess, like wkm it is a dilemma and how the hell can Bette get out of this and have Tina with her. I say they move to another country and start a new life.

    4. Hi Valery:
      I am new here, I am enjoying your story, I like it very much because it is different than others and hard to predict. As I’ve been waiting for an update, in the mean time I was thinking that for Bette to get clean, she should leave the vicious life that she is living (and take her gang with her) and look for a descent life style (going back to study music or just performing as free lance), perhaps making some money and re-gain Tina’s trust; now the moral thing for me is if Bette and/or her gang had indeed killed someone or just take those victims to be killed by someone else.
      I was speculating that for Bette to find a descent outcome, she could gather her gang and go to witness protection program, even though thinks could get complicated with Tina.
      Bette could also have a heroic intervention and redeem herself and her friends finding the authority support to leave the crime life.
      Maybe Bette is about to get arrested, in the next chapter because her scandalous behavior in the beach with Tina and the police is going found out about Bette illicit activities and something good (for Bette and her friends) is going to result. The time bomb is going to explode soon and Bette’s nightmare could get real if she is still undecided, in what to do about that.
      Any way I am checking every day for your update, because you are given us an excellent and thrilling story, that only you are able of unravel with splendid outcome
