    ”God, Bette…” Tina breathed out. She was shaking all over. ”Maybe–Maybe you’d better turn yourself in? Your father is a good lawyer, maybe he could have–”

    ”No.” The brunette snapped up. ”You are really mistaken if you think that I would be safe in jail after I turn myself in.”

    ”You would be safer there than if you walked around and literally exposed yourself at gunpoint!”

    ”Tina! Don’t you think I know a little more about these things? Who are you trying to convince?!”

    ”What is wrong with you!” Tina exclaimed, her eyes welling with tears again. ”Your prison time would be much reduced if you turn yourself in! Or do you prefer to get the business and serve a full time? Or better yet, getting killed at large?! Do you have to be so fucking egocentric? How about the feelings of those people whom you are so afraid to jeopardize? How about my fucking feelings??”

    Even though Bette knew that her concerned lover was talking nonsense due to her emotional state, she decided not to argue with her anymore. Tina was now sobbing and slowly but surely becoming hysterical. The brunette half-rose from her sitting position and practically kneeled her way towards the weeping girl.

    ”Tee…”

    Having felt Bette tenderly touch her hands, Tina immediately withdrew from the hold. ”Don’t!”

    Bette slightly jumped at Tina’s outcry. She looked around and saw some people staring at them. Swallowing up the rising bile in her throat, the dark-haired woman returned to her seat meekly. She then took an apple and bit off on it in order to occupy her mouth before a portion of venom would find its way out and sting the man that was gawking at them impertinently.

    ”I want to know what crime are you involved in.” Tina blurted out, wiping her tears angrily.

    ”Haven’t you learned about it from Jodi?”

    ”I want to hear it from you.”

    Bette’s eyebrows made a quick short movement up and down at the irrational request. ”I’m involved in the drug and sex trafficking.”

    ”Jodi said nothing about drug trafficking.” The blonde pointed out with tension that could be cut with a knife.

    2. I am desperatly holding hope and trust in the title of your story!

      This is a mess, like wkm it is a dilemma and how the hell can Bette get out of this and have Tina with her. I say they move to another country and start a new life.

    4. Hi Valery:
      I am new here, I am enjoying your story, I like it very much because it is different than others and hard to predict. As I’ve been waiting for an update, in the mean time I was thinking that for Bette to get clean, she should leave the vicious life that she is living (and take her gang with her) and look for a descent life style (going back to study music or just performing as free lance), perhaps making some money and re-gain Tina’s trust; now the moral thing for me is if Bette and/or her gang had indeed killed someone or just take those victims to be killed by someone else.
      I was speculating that for Bette to find a descent outcome, she could gather her gang and go to witness protection program, even though thinks could get complicated with Tina.
      Bette could also have a heroic intervention and redeem herself and her friends finding the authority support to leave the crime life.
      Maybe Bette is about to get arrested, in the next chapter because her scandalous behavior in the beach with Tina and the police is going found out about Bette illicit activities and something good (for Bette and her friends) is going to result. The time bomb is going to explode soon and Bette’s nightmare could get real if she is still undecided, in what to do about that.
      Any way I am checking every day for your update, because you are given us an excellent and thrilling story, that only you are able of unravel with splendid outcome
