I Will Not Let You Fall

”First of all, I wanted to know, where were you last night”

”What? Don’t you know? I called mom and notified her that I would spend the night at Bette’s”

    ”I never knew that.”

”Oh” Tina said quietly, reminding herself to talk with her mother.

”What’s done is done, I presume. This is your choice and my only responsibility in this is to direct you to the right path. Are you sure that this woman is right for you?”

Tina hesitated for a few seconds. ”Daddy, I’m in love with her. I hope with all my heart that she is the right one for me. I mean, our relationship has just begun. It’s still very young, so I can’t tell you much”

”It’s just begun and you are already talking about love?” Albert asked, raising his eyebrows.

”Yes, I am. I love her. I guess love from a first sight exists, huh” Tina replied with a smile, hanging her head a bit.

Albert sighed. ”I will be honest with you, Christina. I don’t trust her. I don’t know why yet, but I will find out eventually.”

”Okay” Tina answered in a little bit of a despair.

”What does she do for a living? How old is she? Does she have a higher education?” Albert wondered.

Tina stared at him, at loss. She realized she knew so little about her girlfriend.

”Is there a problem?” Her father pressed on.

”Umm…no. I mean, yes, I’m not sure what does she do… I only know that she is twenty four years old and that she didn’t finish her university for some reason… But she went to Yale!” Tina completed her sentence with more vehemence than necessary, desperate to sooth her father’s attitude towards Bette.

”Yale or not Yale, she didn’t finish it. And don’t you think you are too young for her?”

Tina let out a heavy sigh. ”Dad, how much older you are than mom? Eight years?” She asked her father rhetorically.

”This is different, Christina. Your mother wasn’t nineteen, when we met.”

”I don’t think that I’m too young for her.” The blonde said, folding her arms in defense.

Albert raised his hands and dropped them hopelessly. He stood up and headed to the door, looking at Tina over his shoulder. ”Is she coming to the dinner tomorrow?

Tina nodded and came up to her father, looking at his eyes pointedly, pleadingly. ”Please, don’t be hard on her” She spoke softly. ”Please… Okay?”

Albert kissed his daughter on the forehead and went out of the room, closing the door behind him, leaving Tina alone with her thoughts.

    1. Ok, i think they should have a talk. Tina doesn’t know much about Bette, but i believe they really love each other, but Bette should be honest with Tina about her past and her job, before Tina’s dad discover it.

      Great story.

    2. I agree with Bibi28 they should sit and talk. What Im afraid is Albert might interrogate her at the dinner? Bette sounds like she can be a good person so Im hoping for a good twist.
