I won’t even say goodbye

Tina bit on her lower lip, her hands trembling as she closed the file, unable to read anymore.
The second blast was devastating. The brunette shuddered in her arms. “It’s gonna be ok, Bette. I’ll get you out of here.”
Two men jumped over them as they rushed to the second floor.
“You have to go,” Bette knew the blonde didn’t have the strength to help her. She would only slow her down, “now.”
“I’m not leaving you here, I won’t.” Tina was desperate. She clawed at the rubble around them, making a way to the stairs. But she couldn’t stand, her leg felt numb after losing so much blood. So she came back to hold Bette in her arms.
“Officer Kennard!?” James’ voice was muffled by the heavy smoke and thick dust puffing in from the doorway. He stumbled his way over. “You’re bleeding!” He ripped off a sleeve and tied a knot around her thigh. “There’s been a fire. We need to go now!”
“I can’t! I can’t leave her!” Tina tightened her hold on Bette’s hand, her knuckles turning white. Then she buried her face in the rich brown curls, “I won’t say goodbye.”
“There’s no time, Officer, you have to come with me.” James was physically capable. He hooked his arms under hers and dragged her up.
Tina screamed in protest, her hand locking with the brunette’s. But the hand in hers was weak, and slowly, one finger at a time, it started to let go.
Big brown eyes cloudy with tears, they held a curious smile, sad, relieved, and peaceful. “It’s ok.”
Their hands finally separated. Tina clawed at the air, her fingers contorting with a force that almost broke them. Bette’s hand fell back to the ground, splashing a puff of dust.
“Come on, let’s go.” James was having a hard time carrying her up.
“Please… please…” The blonde was begging, struggling to steer herself back. Her hysteria receded to irregular sobbing and spasming as they stepped outside. A paramedic arrived at her side to check up on her injury.
On the radio, someone yelled, “everybody out! This place is gonna blow up!”
“No…” She pushed the medic away and limped toward the burning building with all she had, nearly sprinting. But before she could set her foot on the curb, a thunderous ball of fire charged through the basement, the earth shivered, a unnatural force smashed all the remaining windows and sent the pieces flying to every direction. It swept her up and threw her away with a lack of mercy.

hello my good friends, I am horrified to hear about Lipitora’s accident. It’s really really shocking and terrible. To never drive drunk and to always be careful crossing the road!
I would want to dedicate a chapter to her, but a better one, a happier one maybe. Keeping up my prayers.
As for the content in this chapter, I know, I know it’s depressing. The violence and drug abuse are probably not that easy to read. But it’s crucial to my story. So I tried to cram it all in one chapter. Consider this a transition.
Personally, I have struggled with a mild drug addiction several years ago because of a depression episode. It was not as bad though. But I know there are hundreds of thousands of people suffering from similar disorders or emotional trauma. Drug is never a solution, I promise you from experience.
I love you all and hope everyone is ok.
Peace
Robyn
Wow, that was very hard to read. Drugs or other addictions are never the answer.
I can understand why people do it and i am glad you came out stronger.
It was a poweful chapter.
Thank you for the update!
Sad chapter but let tina find this was a heartbreaking ”dream”.drugs r never the answer they are the problem.pps
Wow, quite a turn in the story. Hopefully Tina turns the corner to recovery. Thanks
Difficult, very difficult, to read and can’t help but be anxious.
Please make it better soon and dedicate it to our dear Lipitora.
wow what movie is this? this is some the best action I read on here, even better than some of the movies that come out….sigh poor Tina, drugs? why? people often mistake that drugs ease the pain, yet they do just the opposite..i loveeeeee this!!
I have to say that i am so happy to see this story being updated. It captivated me from the very beginning. That being said, i have all the faith that this story is headed in the right direction hopefully. Thanks for posting!
I was very touched by this chapter.
I have so much faith in you Roby.
The complete constellation.
My best bear hug for you.
