    I won’t even say goodbye

The world had never been darker.

A thunder outside shook her back in time. The rain was outside, but her face felt wet. She secretively wiped her nose with a tissue, and hoped nobody had seen anything, not that it mattered anymore. The entire station had showed her much respect during the time she was in hospital. However, nothing lasts forever. When everyone else had moved on from this victory, she found herself stuck, at absolutely rockbottom.

She absentmindedly flipped through the rest of the statements made by irrelevant people, then went on to the autopsy reports. It puzzled her every time, that they managed to recover Jorge and Jodi’s bodies, which meant that the fire was managed before it could devour the lobby. But why were the other two bodies unidentifiable? Unless they were closer to the fire?

“Single shot to the chest, blunt trauma to the head.” She read the report again. It fit, everything fit, except the location. Her chest once again tightened, a wave of ripping heartache started.

Tina stood up and went to the lab, finding the only person that still gave her the time and attention to take her seriously. “Alice, what did you mean when you say there’s nylon fiber discovered on the heel of Jane Doe?”

“It means there’s nylon fiber.” Alice spared a peep from her microscope, and scribbled down something on her pad, “Seriously though, Tina, you’re obsessing.”

“I know, I know, I’m sorry.” The blonde wandered over, and plopped herself up by the high stool. “But what does it mean?”

“It’s a fairly common fabric material. Could be shoes, shoe laces, pants…”

Tina considered it. Now that she thought about it, she couldn’t remember what shoes Bette was wearing that day. Had it been boots? Or maybe leather?

“Apron, comforter, stockings…” Alice continued to list things that could have nylon in it.

“The maid’s stocking.” Tina suddenly voiced her thought.

The tech paused and cocked her head to the side, “yeah could be. So Jane Doe is actually the maid?”

“I don’t know. There still isn’t a match from ballistic?”

    “Zilch.”

“Then we’re missing at least one revolver.” The blonde contemplated. If they found Jorge, then they should have found his gun, and by comparing the piece to the bullet, they surely could have come to a conclusion.

    1. Author:

hello my good friends, I am horrified to hear about Lipitora’s accident. It’s really really shocking and terrible. To never drive drunk and to always be careful crossing the road!
I would want to dedicate a chapter to her, but a better one, a happier one maybe. Keeping up my prayers.

As for the content in this chapter, I know, I know it’s depressing. The violence and drug abuse are probably not that easy to read. But it’s crucial to my story. So I tried to cram it all in one chapter. Consider this a transition.
Personally, I have struggled with a mild drug addiction several years ago because of a depression episode. It was not as bad though. But I know there are hundreds of thousands of people suffering from similar disorders or emotional trauma. Drug is never a solution, I promise you from experience.

I love you all and hope everyone is ok.

      Peace
      Robyn

    2. Wow, that was very hard to read. Drugs or other addictions are never the answer.

I can understand why people do it and i am glad you came out stronger.

      It was a poweful chapter.

      Thank you for the update!

    3. wow what movie is this? this is some the best action I read on here, even better than some of the movies that come out….sigh poor Tina, drugs? why? people often mistake that drugs ease the pain, yet they do just the opposite..i loveeeeee this!!

    4. I have to say that i am so happy to see this story being updated. It captivated me from the very beginning. That being said, i have all the faith that this story is headed in the right direction hopefully. Thanks for posting!
