Chapter 25: The aftermath: “I’ve been thinking about our relationship”…
The next morning was the beginning of the week…the day they both dread…Monday…both women ly awake in bed holding one another’s hand…
Bette strokes her palm…and stares at the blond…she says “I’ve been thinking about our relationship”
Tina turns and matches her eyes with the brunette’s..she asks “about what?” concern filled her voice
Bette continued to stroke her palm…she said “with you trusting me” she sighs and says “I think it would be good for you…for us” she looks from the ceiling over to Tina…
I was silent when Bette spoke of the word trust…I knew that she was right…she could feel the vibe too…and if that is what it took for us to get back on track then it will have to be something that I would consider…I had tried to do it alone…and even though it had already been a couple of days…so much has happened between us…
I mean I humilated myself last night…I don’t know what the fuck happened…but one things for sure is I could thank my insecurities for that one…I’m screwed…and say if Helena wanted to be a bitch because I told her off…she’d probably want to take it out on Bette…I looked over and smiled at her…she seemed so at peace with herself….
she was so certain of me and I loved what her eyes told me…those dreamy eyes…make you collapse down to your feet…I smile inside…trying to forget about the proposal and worry about what’s best for us…maybe Alice was right maybe all that mattered was Bette and the baby…
I sighed with relief and squeezed my lovers hand…I said “I think it would be good for us too ”
she slid over moving closer to me…we both locked eyes and smiled back at one another…she grazed my cheek with her palm…and I stroked her hair.
Bette smiled and said “do you wanna make the appointment?”
I said “yeah…I’ll do it this afternoon”
Bette glances over at the clock…she looks back over to Tina…she says “Jesus…time flies…” she kisses Tina and says“make sure that you are ready by 6:00″…sitting up in bed “we cannot be late.” she gets out of bed and makes her way over to the dresser…
