But maybe.. just maybe seven years was enough. She loved him once; she gave him herself in this life; maybe she was meant to love another – a different soul – until the next.
She tried to convince herself of this sometimes – to allow herself to hope, to open her heart to the possibility of loving again.
But.. it was hard. And it hurt. Cause for the past seven years, she had associated the word “love” with no one but Eric. He was her first; he was her light; and despite his abandonment, he was her soulmate – the love of her life.
“Can you give me a sign?” She whispered while staring idly at his name on the epitaph, the damp cloth hanging loosely on her right hand. “I can’t move on if I know you’re not going to be at peace with it..” She continued, sniffling. To open herself fully to the thought of loving again, she wanted his permission first. “But don’t you dare answer my question by scaring the crap out of me..” She warned half-jokingly, smiling amidst tears. She loved him, she really did, but the coward in her cannot take the thought of seeing a ghostly apparition or a brush with the supernatural. “Bring me my favorite,” She said after a moment. “The one you used to give me when I needed cheering up.” She told Eric softly, as her hand rose up to clean his epitaph once more.
“Hey..”
A hesitant voice broke Jill out of her thoughts half an hour later. Her tears already dry by that time, the redhead turned her head and smiled brightly at the figure by the gate. “You actually came..” She couldn’t help but say in awe.
“I told you I’d come.” Bette shrugged, shifting her weight between her two feet, her eyes downcast.
“I know, its just that you’ve been MIA lately.. I wasn’t really keeping my hopes up..” Jill admitted.
“Sorry about that..” Bette rubbed the back of her neck feebly. “My mind’s been uh.. distracted..”
“How long before-?”
“One week.” Bette smiled briefly. “One week to go.”
“That’s good.”
“It is.”
Jill smiled at her friend’s fidgeting form, wondering why she was acting so antsy. Must be separation anxiety, she mused. “So Bette?”

Perfect timing, that classes has been suspended in my part of town, therefore got time to read and re-read your posts without distractions. Hope Jill will not interpret Bette bringing white lillies into something its totally not. Or will she?

Had to comment twice. I think Bette had a dream about standing in a field of white lilies covered in blood. If I am remembering correctly, then this is definitely not a good sign. Still loving alch.
Poor Jill. I hope she can start letting go, without misreading Bette’s offering of white lilies. What did Alice know about Eric? When’s that going to come to light? Or maybe it shouldn’t. And your preview: Heartless? *blinks* Should I be worried, or… Nahhh. I’m just gonna trust you, Alch. Thanks for the “half” chapter. :)
What an amazing ride this is!! I told you before … you’re writing is a book I can’t put down… one i would read in a day!! I’m a little worried too about “heartless”….. :)
Oh, is this a good sign or a bad sign? It is a good sign in that Jill has been given the go ahead to move forward, but it could be a bad sign if Bette is that person that Jill wants.
That doesn’t sounded right to me:(Come on Jill,the lilies didn’t mean anything,really.And another week to go…hopefully Tina will be back soon,even though I don’t know if anything could be changed if Jill made up her mind:(So much drama,and I can’t stop reading it.PPS
oh nooooooo… Why is the clue ‘heartless’? :( It’s going to be bitter sweet huh? Though knowing this is essentially a Tibette story, I can’t help but to feel down about the incoming temporary(i hope) separation- even after the week :O

You know, you make it difficult for me to leave my place for some days. Even if it is to bring a little sanity in my brain. It’ s the second time that I wasn’ t home and when I’ m back I read two chapters like these two. Hmp… (frustrated sigh)! I want them back together. I can’ t take it any longer.
